How about those Jays?

Drouin can be disappointing relative to what we expect from a player with his natural talent and his contract, and also still be worth keeping in the lineup and not a healthy scratch.
Despite the lack of goals, he still leads the team in assists, has good underlying numbers, and creates offensive opportunities every game.
Is it what everyone wants from him? No, we need more.
Is it better to keep Paul Byron or Arturri Lehkonen in the lineup ahead of him? No, its not.
Right on. This team needs to graduate from good to great. -

Agreed, he needs to play better.
I feel like this statement applies to all -
That’s an outstanding Wolverine type recovery.

Nothing quite like watching a middling team with limited upside decide they’re not interested in playing a game.

Hopefully the OT last night put a heavy weight on Calgary’s legs.

I got vaxxed, Leafs got waxed.
It’s been a good day.

Personally I’d like to see Romanov put Marner or Matthews into the 3rd row of seats

The only relevant bonuses for Caufield is a prorated $25,000 for 7 games played. There are some other bonuses that will be hit though - I actually wrote about it yesterday if you're interested in the numbers. https://www.habsworld.net/2021/04/montreals-bonus-situation/
Whether Caufield comes up or they trade for a replacement and put him in Gallagher's spot, there is still going to be a bonus penalty from Suzuki and Romanov if they go to LTIR.
It's the same dilemma they faced with Chiarot and LTIR (he was eligible since he'd miss 10 games/24 days), a decision they opted not to take to preserve their minimal remaining cap room. A lot will depend on how long Gallagher is out - if it's a 4-6 week thing where he could return by the end of the season, that would stop them from trading for a higher-priced replacement. But even a recall of Caufield (heck, even Evans at this point) would require LTIR and would eat in to their cap space, creating the bonus overage.
Thumbs are tricky. If broken, 4-6 weeks minimum. Could be up to 8 depending on details. -
Interesting top 3 lines. Anticipation for Staal at 4th line centre is real.

Anderson with the breakout game

Got a hunkerin for a senator spankerin

If we get a Frolik-Staal-Perry, the summation of their age is 104.

Is Danault sweating profusely?

Alright..... need to find something else to do until Monday.
At least our boys get two bye weeks?!

Dreger reporting that this game could happen tonight if all contact tracing is done early enough.
i would imagine it’s more in depth than just tracing.
It's prevalence testing. Which probably means everyone or nearly everyone in CH operations.

I believe McDavid and Draisatl are going to shred our defence. The 3rd pairing isn’t good enough to consider containing them. The other 2 pairs, especially Weber and Edmundson, will get obliterated by their speed.
I want to be an optimist about this series, so if the Habs can contain McDavid and Draisatl, and can score more than 2 goals, they have a good chance at winning.
All hail Petry and Kulak. Once you shut down the usual suspects, YEG is a house of cards. -
Fingers crossed for Tovfefe.

Alfredoh!!! You’re hired!!!!

I think Suzuki has found his shooting sweet spot

The plural of anecdote is data. We are systematically bad at OT.

Can’t decide who’s more garbage-esque. Ouellette or the refs.
2021 PLAYOFFS GAME #2 - HABS VS LEAFS - MAY 22 @ 19:00 ET

Would be nice to get a win but getting the first game is already something of a “mission accomplished”.
I’m really hoping that they play sound, smart hockey and above all show the Leafs that we will outwork and outwill them.
