  1. I really think it's funny that people keep bringing up the Riberio trade and saying it was bad. It's like they completely deleted the image in their head of him rolling around on the ice as if he had been shot. Only to get up laugh and wink at the other team.
  2. I bet if Gainey had just signed all of our ufa's and stayed with the same team as last year, we would have the same people bitching and moaning about how Gainey has done nothing to better the hockey team. I for one am happy that Gainey was finally able to attract some free agents. Yes they are undersized, but I think they can really work together and put up some great numbers. I guess time will tell. And just to add one more thing on losing Komi. 2 things he's good at. Block shots and hits. With the way he plays, all it takes is to get hit a certain way or take a slap shot off the leg and boom... he's gone for a month or two. I guess now we get to see what kind of defenseman he is without Markov bailing him out. Look how well he did when Markov was out for the last couple of games and the playoffs Personally, I think we should get rid of Markov. He makes his defensive partner look too good and we end up losing them.
  3. I think we should sign Cam Barker when he becomes an UFA this year.
  4. I really feel that Chips and Weber will be up for most of the year. Weber had a pretty good playoff and I think he will be able to really do well on the PP. I'm also hoping that PK can make it up so we can get rid of O'byre. As for our size, I think if this was 6 or 7 years ago when they never called the hooks and holding, I would be worried. If the refs call the games like they're suppose to, then I don't think we will have too much of a problem. It could be worse. We could still have Grabs and have to pay him 2.9m a season. And leaf fans think our GM is crazy.
  5. Komi and Markov are a lock to make the starting line up. So no matter what, we will probably have 3 starters in the game. I think one of the reasons that Kovy has started to pull away from Koivu was the fact that Koivu got hurt and people don't really know if he's coming back on time to play in the game.
  6. PK now has 35 points in 27 games and is a +25
  7. So are you guys basing your opinion on watching the game on tv or actually being there? Cause I was there and I watched Lang alot. He was useless.
  8. No one was worse then Lang. After driving 6 hours from TO to Montreal to see my beloved habs, I was once again totally disappointed. I made a few observations. First of all Lang is probably the most useless person on this team. He seems so lost and confused out there. He can't seem to shoot anything, makes tons of bad passes, gets knocked off the puck too easily and seems to be in a low gear. I noticed everytime Lang was on the ice because everything slowed down, even with the #### bros on his wings. I kinda hope he gets to see some games from the press box, cause he's pretty horrible out there right now. I personally would have benched him after taking the stupid penalty 30 seconds into one of our powerplays. Second, Kovy doesn't seem to be himself. THere was a couple of times that he was able to take the puck and dominate it for a bit, but then would end up giving it away. Maybe it would be good to sit the big #### too. Since he was hit and knocked out, he doesn't seem to be running even close to full steam. Maybe a conditioning stint in the minors might help him along. I really wish the players would simplify the game a little more and stop trying to make this little cute passes that hardly ever make it to another habs. And for my last point, I would have to say that the habs players need to spend a full practice just learning how to dump the puck in deep when your making a line change, since both goals were scored because of it.
  9. Well, the Nov 22 game was sold out. I tried everything from 4 seats together to only 1 seat and nothing. SO I got the week before against Philly. I haven't booed Briere yet, so that should be fun. Good luck to everyone else.
  10. For the last 15 minutes I have been stuck on 2 minutes of wait time left
  11. 2-5 minutes now. It better not let me in just to tell me they're sold out.
  12. Down to 5-10 minute wait. Come on and let me in!! Crap. It's at 90% now.
  13. Holy crap. The Nov 22 game went from 0% to 60%. lol
  14. My wait time is down to 10-15 minutes.
  15. I realise that Sundin has the right to make his mind up when he wants. BUt 3 months later and he hasn't even decided if he still wants to play? If he would just make up his mind and tell the teams who have no shot at him, maybe those teams can move on and fill out the rest of their rosters. Sundin keeping quiet for most of the summer? Sure he has. Only problem is he has an agent that doesn't seem to want to shut up. Just when things start to slow down, he gets infront of a mic and starts talking. "Hey. It's a slow day. Let's call someone and tell them that 6 teams are now interested in my client". He should just shut up until his client actually makes up his mind on whether he still wants to play hockey. Maybe then there wouldn't be so many stories out there. So sure you can blame the media for all of the stories. But you can also blame 2 other people. J.P. Barry(his agent) and Sundin himself. Afterall, he's the one taking his sweet time and keeping millions of fans waiting. And he's also the one that lets Barry represent him.
  16. Everytime I hear that Sundin to the rangers for $2 million, I have to just laugh. WHy would he want to go there in the first place? If anything, their team has taken a step backwards from last year. Not being able to sign some of their bigger players and overpaying for defensemen. So he's going to take a huge pay cut so he can be with a team that's not really going to do anything? If they decided to get rid of some players to have enough cap room, then they would end up getting rid of one of their $7 million guys. So your going to get rid of a talented guy who just had a bad year for a player who is reaching the end of his career? I just don't see it. Plus I don't see anyone stupid enough to take Gomez and his 6 remaining years left on his contract off the Rangers hands. I was really pumped about the Habs possibly getting Sundin. WIth the 100 year celebration, the all-star game, the draft and a couple of number retirements, everything is going to be happening with the habs this year. If it's taking this long to figure out that this will probably be the greatest year of hockey he will ever see, then maybe he just isn't right for the team. Quite frankly, I'm getting pretty sick of the whole thing and now just wish that he would retire.
  17. I think the most enjoyable time I have ever had while watching a hockey game on TV was when the announcers were on strike. So all you heard from the game was the sounds of the game and that's it. No useless information about how the teams have scored 15% of their powerplays on the road in the third period when the moon was full and the team was wearing their 3rd jerseys.
  18. From what I read, isn't the cap for next year suppose to be at around 56 million? If so, then we have plenty to play with.
  19. I like how people forget how a player was for their team when he gets traded and starts doing well. I for one remember hearing how much of a cancer Ribs was in the dressing room as well on the ice. Remember him faking the injury on the ice? Writhing in pain as if he was shot. Then getting up, winking and laughing about it. I don't know about you, but I got alot of ribbing about that from my co-workers, who are all Leaf fans. When someone gets traded, I wish them well, but I don't care how they do. They're not part of the team anymore.
  20. I love how the season has just started and people are already starting to get negative on what should have been a positive win. It's going to be a long season only because you choose to make it that way. Here's an idea. How about just let the guys play and enjoy hockey again. At the end of the 7 pre-season games and the roster is set, then you can start to complain about people that have actually made the team.

  22. My dream is that after this next season, the cap will be dropped to about 37 million. Then everyone that signed these players for way too much and for too long will get screwed over. It wouldn't be as bad if it was signings for only 1 year. But these guys are getting 5-7 years. THat's insane. I think Bob has a definate plan for us. And that plan doesn't include being burdened with a contract from a player for 5 years that probably only has a couple good years left. So we sign a big ceter for lots of money. What happens to a guy like Chip or Locke? It would be nice to get them up and let them get some experience. With all of these outragous deals going on, I almost think that Milbury is controlling half of these teams. I have all faith in Bob. He's been a GM for a while and you just don't forget what you learnt when you go to a new team. He loves the habs probably more then anyone here. He's not going to do anything to screw up the future of this organization. I don't think the language issue has anything to do with it. I do think that Bob offered about the same money to these free agents, just a couple years less. And least he's one GM that gets the new NHL.
  23. So how did a Chipchura thread turn into a goaltending thread?
