  1. The Weber and Drouin trade are really showing what a genious MB is. After getting called out they come out and lay a goose egg, i think this team still needs a lot of growing and character. I really feel bad for Price, stuck with a bunch of loosers for his entire career.
  2. Galchenyuk is gradually catching up to Domi in points, his +/- rating sucks but he is scoing and at a more consistent rate.
  3. I agree, the days of the Richard riot are old and gone, players are not treated like gods now, and don't deserve it. The issue is fairness and equality, that's why police investigations into incidents like the Chara hit and Bertuzzi raise the question about automatic police investigation if the league cannot conduct themselves appropriately.
  4. So Malkin got the star treatment suspension...why bother? They should make it clear, if you are a star you get away with murder.
  5. As much as I don't like the senators, you have to feel for the fans, they traded the future for a player they may lose and will have nothing significant to show for Dushane.
  6. It will be insteresting to see how they manage their cap 11 for tavers, 11 for mattews, 10 for nylander, add 6 for marleau and 4 for kadri plus you add marner at around 11 and that's 52M on 6 forwards.
  7. Yeah, 8 overall in the league and if the power play was better and helped them win a few games they could have been as high as 4th. Its been a good season so far, lots of hockey to play but they have to be proud of what they have done so far.
  8. they should decline the power play. it's just horrible.
  9. Poehling was a beast at the world juniors. He has size, and great hockey sense...not sure why they would part with him. GOstisbehere is good but at 25 its is not a top pairing D that I would expect for that price. When you consider the Druin trade.
  10. NHL suspensions are not based on the hit, its based on the base team the player is on. If he played for Boston it would have been 1 game, if he played for Toronto or NYR it would be a fine. The NHL suspensions are random, and completed by morons.
  11. That does not make sense, who would replace Tatar's offince on the team. The Oliers pick woudl not be top 10 anymore. This looks like the Habs give up a top 6 player and a 4th liner for 4th liner that is small and a draft pick. Were you involved with the Gomez trade?
  12. it would be embarrassing to be schooled by one of the league's worst teams
  13. He will most likely get picked up by a team. I don't think he was given a real chance to play. I am one of those fans that think he has potential, only time will tell what kind of player he will be. I recall being upset when they got rid of LeClair, not saying that Sherback will be another LeClair but the Habs should have given him a chance.
  14. Timmins does well with the late rounds. People don't give him credit for his drafting.
  15. 5 games is early. The issue with him is his work without the puck. If he can pull that together then he will be solid.
  16. still can't forget Subban, Sergachev, Shaw, Alzner, how he treated Markov, Subban, Patches, and all the other dumb moves he has made. 6 games in does not erase all the stupid movies.
  17. with size at 6'2". So definitely not a Habs player.....must be under 6' to be a Habs Center
  18. I agree, if you look at it, he has already started, I don't think he should have traded Sergachev. My fear is this team makes the playoffs and he starts to trade assets to get washed up old players with a false hope that they can really compete with some of the stronger teams. We all focus on the trades but there are also the public battles with star players and his drive to make sure anyone how really wants to play in Montreal is traded away.
  19. I think the general feeling is the the Patches trade was pretty good return (Nick Suzuski & Tartar) was a pretty good return, and still early to evaluate. That has nothing to do with the Domi trade which is too early to evaluate. If we make a killing like the avs have on the Duchane trade that would be good.
  20. His problem is he thinks he is entitled to be a superstar without working for it. That has always been his problem that his why he refused to go to the minors before. After 5 years of being in the league he has not gotten it. So I have little hope he ever will. MB was dumb to make that trade, especilly after he gave up Subban for an older defence man. It will take another 6 years to recover from MB
  21. No one will give you a top 4 for Drouin....he is starting to look like alexander dagel...lots of talent but can't put it together.
  22. I guess MB is working on getting rid of all the talent Timmins drafts. Who needs skilled defence when you can get pilons...then say the team needs to be better in front of Price. I find it funny that a guy who played defence has no clue how to evaluate defence talent.
  23. Shaw has more trade value. Personally I would pick Scherbak over Shaw any day. I think given a chance Scherbak will be good.
  24. Check how many picks they had between 2008 and 2014. There are many years where there was no first or 2nd or 3rd rounder. There are players like Kristo that never played with Montreal. Between 2008 and 2014 he did draft Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Lehkonen, de-la-Rose, Andrighetto, Scherbak, Sergachev were all drafted after 2007.
  25. If you look at the drafts and number of game players have played in the NHL, Timmins has one of the highest success rates. Especially in the late round, a lot of players he has drafted have made it to the NHL and played for several seasons. You cannot blame him for GMs trading his picks.
