  1. Yes, me too, I'm wondering how The Claude will use his players, and what type of game he will demand. Therrien used to say "ice time will be rewarded for playing the right way, earn your ice time" and we all know that wasn't true, it's going to be interesting to see the new team dynamics and politics.
  2. I agree, totally. I'm happy to have Weber, and don't miss whats'isface at all.
  3. I haven't been a big Julien fan, and I remember saying I thought Therrien was the better behaved behind the bench, less of an idiot, less caveman and old school than Julien. I'm not going to say now that I think this is the best hiring possible, but it's probably the best hiring the Montreal Canadiens could make with their "need a French speaking" thing, before he was snatched up by another team. As someone(maybe Lovett's) said, it's obvious the team needed a coaching change, and Julien has a lot of great hockey people, say great things about him, he has a recent cup, and his Bruins although lacking depth, could play against anybody, and be in the game. I have been a Therrien supporter all through this last tenure, but said to my lady after Sunday's game, that I had all I could take of Therrien's coaching, it's obvious the team has dialed out. I will say that I have an open mind about Julien, maybe I disliked him because it was the Bruins he coached? But I cringe when I think of the things that iLLWiLL reminded us of. Bottom line is, Habs needed a coaching change, and Julien is a highly regarded NHL coach by his peers, and he speaks French, so not a bad move in my books.
  4. Goes to show you that Habs Rule was indeed asking the right question Kudos to you bud for the most entertaining thread since I joined here...
  5. The only way I trade Price to Pit for Fleury is if Crosby is coming to Mtl with him. That's all I got.
  6. That about sums it up right there... and you're bang on about the defense, Markov being right up there for worst positional Dman... He's been awful. Petry needs Markov, Weber needs Beaulieu to receive a brain transplant so he can partner with him, to get Emelin on the 3rd pair where he belongs. This team is underachieving for sure as you said, and MT can't get them to play more than 20-40 minutes...
  7. Starting to smell like Habs Rule's thread will end soon, a lot of speculation in all media about MT getting jettisoned... My worry is they don't fire him, and they trade Chucky, it's obvious MT doesn't like him, and it's obvious that Danault shouldn't be the #1 center, obvious to everyone but MT. Big problem with coach if he can't see that making Chucky the C for Rad and Patch is better than his ideas of late. I've been an MT supporter, but I feel the team slipping, and I know how could they can be when they play hard, but 10 minutes of "play hard" won't win games, and that's about all they have had the last 10 games or so, 10 minutes of good hockey. After the break it's tick tock for MT...
  8. I thought so too Don, for the most part anyway, better than most nights with Petry and Beaulieu as a pair at least.
  9. How about, Chucky, Segachev, Emelin, and 1st round pick this year, for Duschene or Landeskog and MacKinnon. Go ahead, tear me to shreds, Commandant, you're up!
  10. I had hoped this thread would die by now, team isn't bad at all... One losing streak with a new coach, and some of you would be demanding his head roll as well. What I hate most is constant management upheaval, so I am content, at least until the day comes we are eliminated from the playoffs this year One could argue it's more of a roster problem(Bergevin's fault mostly) we have had under Therrien's watch this time round couldn't one?
  11. Anyone wondering of Petry will again be Markov's partner? Markov is gone to Russia because of ex's death, so will Nesterov play tonight?
  12. He needs some super duper guards for those hands on his gloves
  13. Yes sir, my point exactly, I like our roster on D wayyy better than last year's cup champs.
  14. Jaques Martin was the tuner of that "nobody" defense that Pit won the cup with, it was more about how they played, and not who they were. Can't under estimate how good Letang is either...
  15. DD has none of the size, strength, or speed to be effective against the youth of today's NHL. End of story. I would rather see De LaRose on the 4th line, can't score but plays an excellent 2 way game, and a heavy one at that, might surprise in a playoff game, DD won't surprise anyone.
  16. Really, don't think you guys are in for much debate, I'm full on board the "Keep Chucky" train as well.
  17. That dive...and then that smile when he got up... schmuck is too nice...
  18. I do, I think he is a good player, albeit as Don says, dumb at times, but he is tough, and coach Mike is gonna knock the dumb outta him I'm sure...playoff grinder type, again, this team needs some of that. Although is not the player he is, Marchand is dumb too is all I have left to say...
  19. Personally, I have said it from the time we acquired him, I like Shaw and what he can bring in the tough sledding...
