  1. They showed it in slow motion right after the incident and you could see Boynton bury the stick blade in Ribs gut. He was sneaky about it and you had to look close to catch it Just reported on TSN he got a further game for the throat slash gesture.
  2. He allowed Boynton to spear him in the guts, thats a suspendable offence isn't it?
  3. What the heck are you smokin, Bulis has been one of our better players this season. He had his offensive problems earlier on but he was always reliable defensively and now that he's finding the net he's a real keeper.
  4. All teams enter the season with a goal in mind and I believe BG said at the start of this season the teams goal was to make the play offs. If they do make it then they have achieved their goal, everything else is gravy. Playoff experience however short is invaluable, so it's never a bad thing when a team gets there no matter what seed they achieve.
  5. He's certainly playing like you'd expect a number 1 to play. When he's in there I feel very confident. Someone mentioned they hope he doesn't lose it over the break, isn't he playing for France in the Olympics.
  6. It's a little early to say that we're not going to finish any higher than 8th.
  7. Hard fore check, strong on the puck, 100% effort = we win
  8. I mentioned in my previous post I didn't see every game, but never heard him booed in any I saw
  9. Maybe Marty's intends on becoming a journalist when he retires and is just practising.
  10. Probably wasn't mentioned because it wasn't intentional, just a result of them getting tangled up after Bulis' great back check.
  11. I strongly believe boo birds are a bunch of self centred people more concerned about their own frustrations than the good of the team. Sure they pay their money and have every right to boo if they want, but they're only thinking about themselves when they do it. By the way I've been a habs fan for 50 years and although I didn't see him play every game I never heard Beliveau booed in any game I saw.
  12. The recent success has come as a result of BGs' new system they have been playing since the second game against Boston. They have been employing an agressive forecheck which includes more hitting, it was particularily evident late in the third when they had Buffalo pinned in their end. Ribs has thrown more checks in the last couple of games than he has all the rest of the season.
  13. The Boo Birds are nothing but a bunch of idiots who have no real understanding of the game, they're usually the people you see leaving a one goal or tied game when there's 3 mins left.
  14. I like Phaneuf, although any of the others wouldn't hurt either. Must say loosing Niedermeyer is big, I don't think you can fully replace him
  15. Ya gotta love the way the team has played the last 3 games, 5 out of a possible 6 points and it just as easily could have been 6 of 6. I think they are finally playing BG's system after getting used to it in practice since he took over. Up until the 2nd Boston game they were still employing CJ's ineffective trap. Now they have the agressive forecheck happening and it's paying dividends. The lines are more effective and the intensity level is up where it should be. Hopefully it continues. Oh yeah solid goaltending sure doesn't hurt either. I don't think Theo gets another start till after the break.
  16. Absolutely, Koivu should be resigned. I agree that a 2-3 year deal is probably sensible, as far as what he should make goes, it should be what the Habs figure he's worth. What that is I have no idea, that's why they pay BG the big bucks.
  17. I guess a lot of people have a problem with Koharski, personally I don't. He has been recognized for years as one of the best in the league, thats why he has called many Cup finals, granted he's not as high on the pecking order as he used to be, but I would rather see him calling a game than a lot of the others out there.
  18. NO GOAL, look at the replay, the goal was called off because Ryder made a forward pushing motion with his body, if he'd not made that motion it's a goal. Don't blame Koharski he made the right call. By the way Koharski isn't from Ontario, he's from Dartmouth NS. :?- He didn't grab the stick, he pinned it under his wrist for a split second, WEAK CALL
  19. I disagree, on the replay from in back of Ryder you can see he was in perfect posiition to make the call and made it without hesitation. I'm as pissed as anyone the goal didn't count, but I think it was the right call.
  20. Disgraceful, give your head a shake. That was a very weak call. How do you know Koivu isn't a good leader, are you in the dressing room or on the bench. You have no idea what your talking about. :?-
  21. People sure get a great laugh kicking others when the're down. Pathetic. Theo will return to form, believe it.
  22. Your assessement is right on, how anyone can expect Bob to have worked miracles in the time he's been here is beyond me. It takes time to build a contender especially when one has suffered thru mismanagement for years. As they say hind sight is 20/20 and everybody that uses it is an "expert".
  23. I had the opportunity to see Latendresse last night as the Voltigers were in town to play the Mooseheads and to put it bluntly I wasn't impressed, he played soft for a big guy and was for the most part out muscled by smaller players. If I hadn't of made a point to identify him in the pregame I wouldn't have noticed him all night. He has a lot of improving to do to to make it to the show. He isn't going to be helping the Habs anytime soon.
