  2. For the first time in weeks, there will be hockey in Hamilton as the Bulldogs (32-25-11-0) finally return home after a lengthy road trip to take on the Wolves (35-25-6-1). Chicago holds the 8th and final spot in the West, two points up on Hamilton and the Wolves also have a game in hand. Suffice it to say, it's another must-win game. 3. It seems like I can't read any Habs articles for the past week without it coming to the same conclusion: either the Habs are a Toronto bad team full of smoke and mirrors like a great goalie and a great LWer or the Habs are a bad team full of smoke and mirrors and having a great goalie and a great LWer is enough to win the Stanley Cup. Frankly I'm bored of the narrative and the regular season. But I love me some Alex Ovechkin! 5. It's the final Battle of Ontario (pending a surprise playoff matchup) as the Bulldogs (31-25-11-0) look to hang onto a playoff spot for another day as they travel to Toronto to take on the Marlies (31-24-9-0). With a win, Hamilton could be as high as 7th after today. With a regulation loss, they could be in 3-way tie from 8th-10th (with the other two teams having three games in hand). It's safe to say this is a must-win game. 8. CANADIENS (46-20-8) at JETS (38-24-12) TV: RDS, SNE, TSN3 Season series: Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price had 29 saves in shutting out the Winnipeg Jets earlier this season. Lars Eller had the decisive goal. Canadiens team scope: Goaltender Dustin Tokarski will start, coach Michel Therrien announced Wednesday after practice according to the Canadiens website. Tokarski made 41 saves in his most recent start, a 3-2 road win against the Florida Panthers on March 17. "We've got a plan in place when it comes to [Price]," Therrien said of his schedule for his No. 1 goaltender as the Canadiens prepare for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Therrien said he will not make any changes to the lineup he used in a 3-2 overtime road loss against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Montreal became the first team in the NHL to reach 100 points. The Canadiens have the third-best road record (22-12-3) in the League, and their 22 road wins rank second. The power play is 3-for-32 in its past 14 games and has not scored in the past four games. The Canadiens return home against the Florida Panthers on Saturday to begin a three-game homestand. They can clinch a playoff spot with a regulation or overtime win and if the Anaheim Ducks beat the Boston Bruins in any fashion, or if the Bruins beat the Ducks in a shootout. The Canadiens also can get in with a shootout win and any kind of Ducks win against the Bruins, or by getting one point against the Jets and the Ducks beat the Bruins in regulation. Jets team scope: Center Bryan Little and defenseman Dustin Byfuglien each have missed nine consecutive games because of upper-body injuries; Winnipeg did not practice Wednesday, and a further update on each player's status will not be available until Thursday. The Jets start a four-game homestand in which they will face three of the top seven teams in the League. A 5-2 loss against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday ended a five-game winning streak; Winnipeg went 1-1-0 on its two-game road trip. Winnipeg holds the second wild card into the playoffs from the Western Conference and trails the Minnesota Wild by one point; the Los Angeles Kings are two points behind Winnipeg and hold a game in hand. The Jets had gone five games without allowing a power-play goal (15-for-15) before Vancouver scored on its only chance Tuesday. Winnipeg's homestand continues against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday.
  9. While there technically are no 'freebies' on the schedule, this is as close to one as the Bulldogs (31-25-10-0) will get for the rest of the season. Tonight, they travel to Rochester to take on what's left of the Americans (25-33-5-1). No word on whether Bowman will play or not (I don't even know if he's injured or was a healthy scratch on Wednesday). 11. If there was ever a must-win game in late March, this is it. The Bulldogs (30-25-10-0) look to get back on the winning side of the ledger while also moving back into a playoff spot as they travel to Adirondack to take on the Flames (31-24-6-2).
