  1. Not a great start for Mayer and the Bulldogs as they allowed 2 before the game was a minute old and trailed 3-0 before the 6 minute mark. However, goals by Leblanc and Stortini (that's not a typo, he actually did something productive) have cut the deficit to 1 after the first. And just after I hit post, Tenute scores 24 seconds into the 2nd to tie it at 3!
  2. It's Round 2314 of the season series between the Marlies (22-12-1-2) and the Bulldogs (13-20-1-4). (Okay, it's only Round 9 - I think...) Tonight's game is a sellout as well (lower bowl only). With both teams losing some players (and the Marlies adding a few as well), these lines are straight up guesses. Projected Toronto Lines: Deschamps - Zigomanis - Abbott D'Amigo - Connolly - Frattin Ashton - Colborne - Ryan McKegg - Acton - Scott Mottau - Blacker Ranger - Gysbers Syvret - Grimshaw Rynnas Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Bournival - Dumont Murovich - Tenute - Holland Lefebvre - Chaput - Leblanc Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Tinordi - DeSantis St. Denis - Commodore Beaulieu - Ellis Mayer Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  3. With exactly half of their skaters in Montreal, what's left of the Hamilton Bulldogs (13-19-1-3) are in BC to take on Abbotsford (17-12-3-4). The Bulldogs will likely have 4 players in their first AHL game of the season. With both teams losing so many players, these lines are straight up guesses. Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Tenute - Armstrong Lefebvre - Murovich - Chaput Avtsin - Leveille - Schultz Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Corbin - DeSantis Stejskal - Isherwood Mayer Projected Abbotsford Lines: Sylvester - Walter - Kolanos Bancks - Laing - Ruegsegger Olson - Estoclet - Reinhart Howse - Wahl - Nemisz Piskula - Callahan Matczak - Tuzzolino Lamb - MacKenzie Taylor Puck drop is at 10:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  4. For the second time in less than two weeks, the Bulldogs (13-18-1-3) travel to Rochester to take on the Americans (17-14-2-1). The Amerks have already sat down Cody Hodgson and Marcus Foligno in preparation for NHL training camp while we still haven't officially heard anything about Montreal callups. If there are some surprising late scratches for this one, count on those players coming to training camp. Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Quailer - Bournival - Dumont Lefebvre - Chaput - Leblanc Hagel - Leveille - Stortini Tinordi - DeSantis St. Denis - Commodore Beaulieu - Ellis Mayer Projected Rochester Lines: (based on last games' +/- data) Girgensons - Porter - Mancari Sundher - Varone - Rankin Roy - Adam - Schofield* Parker - Tarnasky - Legault* Biega - McNabb Brennan^ - Gauthier-Leduc Finley - Pysyk Leggio * - expected to return from injury for this game ^ - questionable, will be reporting to Buffalo's training camp Puck drop is at 7:05 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  5. Hey, here's a team we haven't for almost an entire week. Tonight, the Bulldogs (12-18-1-3) host the conference-leading Marlies (21-9-1-2) in both teams' first games since the end of the lockout. Both Toronto and Hamilton have made some callups so there is a good chance that several of the players in the projected lineups will be scratched. Those that are scratched will likely be on their way to NHL camp. Early reports say Mike Commodore will be camp-bound so either Antoine Corbin or Joe Stejskal would take his place in the lineup if he's sat. Projected Toronto Lines: (based on +/- data from last game) Hamilton - Aucoin - Abbott Deschamps - Zigomanis - Acton McKegg - Kadri - D'Amigo Ashton - Colborne - Ryan Ranger - Kostka Fraser - Holzer Gysbers - Blacker Rynnas Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Quailer - Bournival - Dumont Lefebvre - Chaput - Leblanc Hagel - Leveille - Stortini Tinordi - DeSantis St. Denis - Commodore Beaulieu - Ellis Mayer Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. TVA Sports also has this game on the TV side. As far as I can tell, this is the final game they're showing prior to the expiration of their free preview.
  6. Hamilton (12-18-1-2) will once again look to get a 2-game win streak going against Lake Erie (17-15-2-1), affiliate of Colorado. The Monsters were blanked 4-0 last night by Charlotte. Projected Lake Erie Lines: (based on last games' +/- data) van der Gulik - Sgarbossa - Agozzino Carey - Olver - Thomas Connolly - Malone - Strong Wilson - MacQueen - Bordeleau Pock - Elliott Stollery - Barrie Gaunce - Beaupre Aittokallio Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Quailer - Bournival - Dumont Lefebvre - Chaput - Leblanc Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Tinordi - DeSantis St. Denis - Commodore Beaulieu - Ellis Mayer Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. TVA Sports (the free preview is still on for another week) has the game on the TV side.
  7. Tonight, the Hamilton Bulldogs (11-18-1-2) will look to finally get a goal as they host Rockford (17-14-1-1). They may also try to win a game as well. The Dogs have been shut out in three straight games and a span of 180:30 overall, both franchise records. I don't know if newly acquired D Jason DeSantis will be in the lineup or not. If he isn't available, Corbin will play once again. Projected Rockford Lines: (based on +/- data from last game) St. Pierre - Kruger - Hayes Saad - Pirri - Smith Beach - Shaw - Bollig Brookbank - LeBlanc - Paradis Clendening - Leddy Lebda - Olsen Stanton - Dahlbeck Hutton Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Quailer - Holland - Leblanc Bournival - Chaput - Avtsin Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Tinordi - St. Denis Beaulieu - Commodore Corbin - Ellis Mayer (I have to think he'll get this one after the Toronto debacle.) Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  8. Happy New Year, Hamilton! Your 'gift' is to take on the conference leading Marlies, who also get Mike Zigomanis back tonight. Just lovely... Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Quailer - Holland - Leblanc Bournival - Chaput - Avtsin Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Tinordi - St. Denis Beaulieu - Commodore Corbin - Ellis Desjardins Projected Toronto Lines: (based on +/- data from last game) Hamilton - Aucoin - Abbott Ashton - Colborne - Scott Ross - Deschamps - Frattin McKegg - Zigomanis - D'Amigo Fraser - Yeo Ranger - Kostka Gysbers - Blacker Scrivens Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  9. It's a Monday matinee as the Bulldogs (11-16-1-2) travel to Rochester to take on the Americans (15-12-2-1). Projected Hamilton Lines: Leblanc - Bournival - Gallagher Blunden - Chaput - Dumont Avtsin - Holland - Quailer Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Beaulieu - St. Denis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - Ellis Mayer Projected Rochester Lines: (based on last games' +/- data) Porter - Adam - Mancari Foligno - Hodgson - Flynn Girgensons - Varone - Rankin Sundher - Tarnasky - Roy Biega - McNabb Brennan - Pysyk Finley - Gauthier-Leduc Leggio Puck drop is at 3:05 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  10. The Bulldogs (11-15-1-2) look to 'go streaking' tonight as they try to get a 2-game win streak going in Lake Erie. The Monsters (15-14-2-1) are coming off a loss to Rochester in a game that had the 8th highest attendance in the history of the AHL (just over 19,000). Projected Hamilton Lines: Leblanc - Bournival - Gallagher Blunden - Chaput - Dumont Avtsin - Holland - Quailer Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Beaulieu - St. Denis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - Ellis Desjardins Projected Lake Erie Lines: (based on last games' +/- data) Connolly - Olver - Thomas Agozzino - Carey - van der Gulik MacQueen - Embach - Roy Heard - Strong Elliott - Pock Gaunce - Barrie Goers - Stollery Beaupre Pickard (Aittokallio was injured last night in Rochester) Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  11. The last time I tried to post a STJ-HAM game thread, the site went dead, let's hope for better luck this time around. The Bulldogs (10-15-1-2) could certainly use some good luck as they look to put an end to a season long losing streak while attempting to get into a tie for 29th in the AHL tonight. The IceCaps (14-16-0-1) have had a disappointing start to the year but sit just a few points out of playoff contention. Antoine Corbin and Steve Quailer are both healthy scratches which means Mike Commodore and Alexander Avtsin will likely play. Projected St. John's Lines: (based on last matchup) Jaffray - Gagnon - Machacek Klingberg - Maxwell - Telegin Gregoire - Macenauer - Sawada Schnell - Mouillerat - Clark Meech - Redmond Postma - Chiarot O'Neill - Arsene Pasquale Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Bournival - Chaput - Nattinen Hagel - Dumont - Leblanc Avtsin - Fortier - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - St-Denis Nash - Commodore Mayer Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. TVA Sports and Sportsnet also have this game on the TV side.
  12. The Bulldogs (10-14-1-2) look to avoid having their longest losing streak of the season as they travel to the ACC to take on the Marlies (17-9-1-1) who lead the North Division. There is no word on whether or not Mike Commodore will be back for the Bulldogs while Nazem Kadri and Mike Zigomanis are both expected to be game-time decisions. Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Bournival - Chaput - Nattinen Hagel - Dumont - Leblanc Quailer - Fortier - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - St-Denis Nash - Wild Desjardins Projected Toronto Lines: (based on +/- data from last game) Hamilton - Aucoin - Abbott Ryan - Colborne - Frattin D'Amigo - Deschamps - Scott Ross - Acton - Ashton Fraser - Holzer Ranger - Kostka Gysbers - Blacker Scrivens Puck drop is at 1:05 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. TVA Sports and Sportsnet 1 also have this game on the TV side.
  13. Hamilton (10-12-1-1) looks to end their road trip on a winning note (and with a .500 record) as they travel to Peoria to take on the Rivermen (11-11-2-2), affiliate of St. Louis. A win not only would move Hamilton out of last in the West but also to within 4 points of a playoff spot. Mike Commodore (groin) is hoping to return for this one; if he comes back, I can't see Corbin sitting as he has played two straight strong games. Peoria is on a season-best 4 game winning streak. Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Bournival - Chaput - Nattinen Quailer - Fortier - Leblanc Hagel - Dumont - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Corbin - St-Denis Desjardins Projected Peoria Lines: (based on +/- data from last game) Cracknell - Hensick - Nesbitt Murray - McRae - Schwartz Andronov - Grachev - Shattock Peluso - Sonne - Bruton Regner - Cole Cundari - Chorney Ford - Shields Allen Puck drop is at 8:05 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  14. The Bulldogs (10-11-1-1) are hoping to end the week with a win as they play their second game in less than 24 hours. Tonight's opponent is the Admirals (Milwaukee, not Norfolk) who are in last in their division (11-11-2-1). Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Bournival - Chaput - Nattinen Quailer - Fortier - Leblanc Hagel - Dumont - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - St-Denis Nash - Corbin Desjardins Projected Milwaukee Lines: (based on +/- data from last game) Bourque - Watson - Cehlin Henderson - Mueller - Beck Latta - Van Guilder - Reid Ryan - Puustinen - Bang Blum - Ekholm Ellis - Bartley Jarvinen - Olivier-Roussel Smith (their backup played last night) Puck drop is at 6:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  15. The Bulldogs (9-11-1-1) look to get back in the victory column tonight as they travel to Rockford to take on the IceHogs (13-11-1-1), affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks. The Hogs played last night in Milwaukee, falling 4-3 in OT to the Admirals (who happen to be tomorrow's opponent for the Bulldogs). Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Holland - Gallagher Bournival - Chaput - Leblanc Quailer - Nattinen - Dumont Hagel - Fortier - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - St-Denis Mayer Projected Rockford Lines: (based on +/- data from last game) Morin - Kruger - Saad Shaw - Flick - Hayes Brookbank - Pirri - Smith Bollig - St. Pierre - Beach Clendening - Leddy Lalonde - Olsen Stanton - Dahlbeck Hutton Puck drop is at 8:05 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  16. The Bulldogs (9-10-1-1) kick off another 4-game road trip as they travel to Chicago to take on the Wolves (10-9-2-1), affiliate of Vancouver. Aaron Palushaj (shoulder) is out 4-6 weeks, as a result, Olivier Fortier is up with the team but is not expected to play tonight. Projected Hamilton Lines: Holland - Gallagher - Blunden Bournival - Chaput - Leblanc Quailer - Boyce - Dumont Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - St-Denis Desjardins Projected Chicago Lines: (based on +/- data from last game so these likely aren't entirely right) Sterling - Schroeder - Haydar Miller - Ebbett - Kassian Sweatt - Friesen - Rodin Archibald - Longpre - Gordon Tanev - Matheson Cannauton - Joslin Hunt - Miskovic Climie Puck drop is at 8:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  17. The Bulldogs (8-10-1-1) return from a 4-game road trip to begin a whopping 1-game homestand before going out on another 4-game road trip. Their opponent? The same team they played the last time the puck was dropped at Copps, the Lake Erie Monsters (12-10-1-1). With Peoria winning last night, Hamilton now sits dead last in the AHL (but have multiple games in hand on almost everyone). Projected Lake Erie Lines: (based on +/- data from yesterday so these likely aren't entirely right) van der Gulik - Malone - Thomas Agozzino - Sgarbossa - Lerg Connolly - Olver - G. Walker Carey - Heard - Bordeleau Gaunce - Elliott Stollery - Barrie Pock - Sullivan Pickard Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Dumont - Gallagher Blunden - Boyce - Leblanc Bournival - Chaput - Palushaj Hagel - Nattinen - Holland Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - St-Denis Desjardins Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. The game can also be seen on TVA Sports.
  18. Just a quick version from me as it's nearly game time. The Bulldogs will look to avoid dropping to dead last in the AHL tonight as they take on the Hershey Bears, the one team with a higher attendance than Hamilton. (Long live small sample sizes...) Lineup changes are unknown but hopefully Bournival comes back into the lineup. It would be even better if Stortini came out for him as Chaput has played relatively well since coming up and Nattinen shouldn't be benched either. Alexander Avtsin isn't with the team at the moment, his wife (or girlfriend, I didn't catch it last night) had their first child earlier today. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  19. After defeating the league leading Heat in their last time out, one would logically think things would get easier for the Bulldogs (7-9-1-1). Sadly this is not the case as tonight they travel to Syracuse to take on the Crunch (13-5-1-1), the Eastern Conference leaders. Syracuse is three points behind Abbotsford but have two games in hand. Keith Aulie and Brett Connolly are both expected to return to the lineup for the Crunch, as if their lineup wasn't good enough already. Projected Syracuse lines: (These are guesses based on +/- data from previous games which means surely some of these will be wrong) Brown - Conacher - Connolly Palat - Johnson - Panik Labrie - Angelidis - Wyman Killorn - Devos - Neilson Cote - Taormina Barberio - Gudas Aulie - Nightengale Tokarski Projected Hamilton lines: Holland - Dumont - Gallagher Blunden - Boyce - Leblanc Quailer - Chaput - Palushaj Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - St-Denis Desjardins Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  20. Hamilton (6-8-1-1) will be in tough as they travel to Abbotsford to take on the division, conference, and league leading Heat (12-2-2-2). This team is the epitome of depth - goalie Barry Brust recently broke a 55 year old league record for the longest shutout streak by a goalie (beating Johnny Bower) at 268:17. Oh, and he's their 3rd string goalie. Some good news for the Bulldogs is that Louis Leblanc is set to return to action after being a precautionary scratch last game. Mike Commodore and Stefan Chaput will also make their Hamilton debuts. Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Holland - Bournival - Palushaj Quailer - Boyce - Leblanc Chaput - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Commodore - Corbin Mayer (sadly he is the confirmed starter) Projected Abbotsford Lines: (based on +/- data from previous games) Baertschi - Walter - Horak Olson - Byron - Laing Bancks - Reinhart - Sylvester Estoclet - Street - Ruegsegger Brodie - Callahan Breen - McCarthy Piskula - McKelvie Taylor Puck drop is at 10 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  21. It's a big divisional battle for the Bulldogs (6-7-1-1) as they host the Lake Erie Monsters (9-7-1-1). Lake Erie is in a bit of a rough patch at the moment having lost 5 straight. It's also the first time that Cedrick Desjardins (and coach Sylvain Lefebvre) cross paths with their former team. Mike Commodore will not play this afternoon - if you're listening to the game though he will be the 2nd intermission guest. Projected Lake Erie Lines: (based on +/- data from yesterday so these likely aren't entirely right) van der Gulik - Bordeleau - Connolly Agozzino - Olver - Thomas Lerg - Sgarbossa - L. Walker Carey - Malone - G. Walker Elliott - Barrie Pock - Goers Stollery - Sullivan Pickard Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Holland - Bournival - Palushaj Quailer - Boyce - Avtsin Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Nash - Corbin Desjardins Puck drop is at 4 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. The game can also be seen on TVA Sports.
  22. The Bulldogs (5-6-1-1) have travelled out East to begin a two game in two day road trip against the St. John's IceCaps (7-8-0-0), affiliate of the Jets. The Caps' struggles are a bit surprising to me given the quality of their roster, especially depth wise. Former Bulldog Mark Mitera tried out for them back in training camp but was cut in a hurry. Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Holland - Bournival - Palushaj Quailer - Boyce - Avtsin Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Nash - Corbin Desjardins Projected St. John's Lines: Jaffray - Burmistrov - Machacek Maxwell - Gagnon - Gregoire Telegin - O`Dell - Klingberg Clark - Macenauer - Sawada Arsene - Postma Meech - Redmond O`Neill - Chiarot Dekanich Puck drop is at 6:30 PM (I think), Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  23. After an impressive (and rather surprising) victory over the Marlies last night, the Bulldogs are off to Toronto for the rematch this afternoon. Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Bournival - Palushaj Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Nattinen - Boyce - Avtsin Holland - Berger - Stortini St. Denis - Ellis Beaulieu - Corbin Tinordi - Stejskal Desjardins (I'm assuming there will be no changes from last night.) Projected Toronto Lines: Frattin - Kadri - Colborne Hamilton - Zigomanis - Scott Komarov - Aucoin - Abbott D'Amigo - Acton - Ashton Fraser – Holzer Gardiner – Kostka Gysbers - Ranger Scrivens (There are rumblings of numerous lineup changes from last night as the Marlies have a lot of healthy scratches at the moment. These are last night's lines...at least what I could make of them.) Puck drop is at 3 PM and can be seen on Sportsnet or TVA Sports. If you're not near a TV or don't get those channels, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  24. Hey, here's a team we haven't seen in ages...or two weeks as the Marlies come to town to kick off a home-and-home matchup, the second of which will be on Sportsnet One tomorrow afternoon. Alexander Avtsin is expected to play in this one, it's about time. Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Bournival - Palushaj Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Nattinen - Boyce - Avtsin Holland - Berger - Stortini St. Denis - Ellis Beaulieu - Corbin Tinordi - Stejskal Desjardins Projected Toronto Lines: Komarov* – Aucoin – Abbott Kadri – Colborne – Scott Hamilton – Zigomanis – D’Amigo Deschamps – Acton – Ashton Gardiner – Kostka Fraser – Holzer Ranger – Gysbers Scrivens (Rynnas was supposed to start but got hurt in practice.) Notes: Matt Frattin may make his season debut tonight; if not, look for him to play tomorrow...just what we need. * - Komarov has agreed to terms with a team in the KHL but the two teams (them and the Leafs) are still working out the details to make it so he can return when the lockout ends. As such, he may play tonight. That surprises me but those lines are from the Marlies' site. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM and can be seen on TVA Sports or Cable 14 in Hamilton. Cable 14 does stream live but only if you're a Cogeco or Shaw internet subscriber. If you are, click here for their feed. If you're not near a TV or don't get those channels, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  25. The Bulldogs (4-3-1-1) travel to the Bell Centre in Montreal to try and salvage a split in this homestand vs the Crunch (6-1-1-1). Syracuse won the first game 3-0 on Wednesday, a game in which the Bulldogs were playing extra close attention to the play in the defensive end. Projected Syracuse lines: (These are guesses based on +/- data from previous games which means surely some of these will be wrong) Conacher - Killorn - Connolly Johnson - Palat - Panik Brown - Angelidis - Wyman Devos - Gauthier Cote - Taormina Barberio - Nightengale Korobov - Oberg Gugas Tokarski Projected Hamilton lines: Holland - Bournival - Gallagher Quailer - Geoffrion - Palushaj Dumont - Boyce - Blunden Nattinen - Berger - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Nash - Corbin Mayer Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play. The game can also be seen on TVA Sports on tape delay.
