  1. The Bulldogs (9-10-1-1) kick off another 4-game road trip as they travel to Chicago to take on the Wolves (10-9-2-1), affiliate of Vancouver. Aaron Palushaj (shoulder) is out 4-6 weeks, as a result, Olivier Fortier is up with the team but is not expected to play tonight. Projected Hamilton Lines: Holland - Gallagher - Blunden Bournival - Chaput - Leblanc Quailer - Boyce - Dumont Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - St-Denis Desjardins Projected Chicago Lines: (based on +/- data from last game so these likely aren't entirely right) Sterling - Schroeder - Haydar Miller - Ebbett - Kassian Sweatt - Friesen - Rodin Archibald - Longpre - Gordon Tanev - Matheson Cannauton - Joslin Hunt - Miskovic Climie Puck drop is at 8:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  2. The Bulldogs (8-10-1-1) return from a 4-game road trip to begin a whopping 1-game homestand before going out on another 4-game road trip. Their opponent? The same team they played the last time the puck was dropped at Copps, the Lake Erie Monsters (12-10-1-1). With Peoria winning last night, Hamilton now sits dead last in the AHL (but have multiple games in hand on almost everyone). Projected Lake Erie Lines: (based on +/- data from yesterday so these likely aren't entirely right) van der Gulik - Malone - Thomas Agozzino - Sgarbossa - Lerg Connolly - Olver - G. Walker Carey - Heard - Bordeleau Gaunce - Elliott Stollery - Barrie Pock - Sullivan Pickard Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Dumont - Gallagher Blunden - Boyce - Leblanc Bournival - Chaput - Palushaj Hagel - Nattinen - Holland Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - St-Denis Desjardins Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. The game can also be seen on TVA Sports.
  3. Just a quick version from me as it's nearly game time. The Bulldogs will look to avoid dropping to dead last in the AHL tonight as they take on the Hershey Bears, the one team with a higher attendance than Hamilton. (Long live small sample sizes...) Lineup changes are unknown but hopefully Bournival comes back into the lineup. It would be even better if Stortini came out for him as Chaput has played relatively well since coming up and Nattinen shouldn't be benched either. Alexander Avtsin isn't with the team at the moment, his wife (or girlfriend, I didn't catch it last night) had their first child earlier today. Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  4. After defeating the league leading Heat in their last time out, one would logically think things would get easier for the Bulldogs (7-9-1-1). Sadly this is not the case as tonight they travel to Syracuse to take on the Crunch (13-5-1-1), the Eastern Conference leaders. Syracuse is three points behind Abbotsford but have two games in hand. Keith Aulie and Brett Connolly are both expected to return to the lineup for the Crunch, as if their lineup wasn't good enough already. Projected Syracuse lines: (These are guesses based on +/- data from previous games which means surely some of these will be wrong) Brown - Conacher - Connolly Palat - Johnson - Panik Labrie - Angelidis - Wyman Killorn - Devos - Neilson Cote - Taormina Barberio - Gudas Aulie - Nightengale Tokarski Projected Hamilton lines: Holland - Dumont - Gallagher Blunden - Boyce - Leblanc Quailer - Chaput - Palushaj Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - Ellis Tinordi - Commodore Nash - St-Denis Desjardins Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  5. Hamilton (6-8-1-1) will be in tough as they travel to Abbotsford to take on the division, conference, and league leading Heat (12-2-2-2). This team is the epitome of depth - goalie Barry Brust recently broke a 55 year old league record for the longest shutout streak by a goalie (beating Johnny Bower) at 268:17. Oh, and he's their 3rd string goalie. Some good news for the Bulldogs is that Louis Leblanc is set to return to action after being a precautionary scratch last game. Mike Commodore and Stefan Chaput will also make their Hamilton debuts. Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Holland - Bournival - Palushaj Quailer - Boyce - Leblanc Chaput - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Commodore - Corbin Mayer (sadly he is the confirmed starter) Projected Abbotsford Lines: (based on +/- data from previous games) Baertschi - Walter - Horak Olson - Byron - Laing Bancks - Reinhart - Sylvester Estoclet - Street - Ruegsegger Brodie - Callahan Breen - McCarthy Piskula - McKelvie Taylor Puck drop is at 10 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen.
  6. It's a big divisional battle for the Bulldogs (6-7-1-1) as they host the Lake Erie Monsters (9-7-1-1). Lake Erie is in a bit of a rough patch at the moment having lost 5 straight. It's also the first time that Cedrick Desjardins (and coach Sylvain Lefebvre) cross paths with their former team. Mike Commodore will not play this afternoon - if you're listening to the game though he will be the 2nd intermission guest. Projected Lake Erie Lines: (based on +/- data from yesterday so these likely aren't entirely right) van der Gulik - Bordeleau - Connolly Agozzino - Olver - Thomas Lerg - Sgarbossa - L. Walker Carey - Malone - G. Walker Elliott - Barrie Pock - Goers Stollery - Sullivan Pickard Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Holland - Bournival - Palushaj Quailer - Boyce - Avtsin Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Nash - Corbin Desjardins Puck drop is at 4 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play; click the banner below to listen. The game can also be seen on TVA Sports.
  7. The Bulldogs (5-6-1-1) have travelled out East to begin a two game in two day road trip against the St. John's IceCaps (7-8-0-0), affiliate of the Jets. The Caps' struggles are a bit surprising to me given the quality of their roster, especially depth wise. Former Bulldog Mark Mitera tried out for them back in training camp but was cut in a hurry. Projected Hamilton Lines: Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Holland - Bournival - Palushaj Quailer - Boyce - Avtsin Hagel - Nattinen - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Nash - Corbin Desjardins Projected St. John's Lines: Jaffray - Burmistrov - Machacek Maxwell - Gagnon - Gregoire Telegin - O`Dell - Klingberg Clark - Macenauer - Sawada Arsene - Postma Meech - Redmond O`Neill - Chiarot Dekanich Puck drop is at 6:30 PM (I think), Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  8. After an impressive (and rather surprising) victory over the Marlies last night, the Bulldogs are off to Toronto for the rematch this afternoon. Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Bournival - Palushaj Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Nattinen - Boyce - Avtsin Holland - Berger - Stortini St. Denis - Ellis Beaulieu - Corbin Tinordi - Stejskal Desjardins (I'm assuming there will be no changes from last night.) Projected Toronto Lines: Frattin - Kadri - Colborne Hamilton - Zigomanis - Scott Komarov - Aucoin - Abbott D'Amigo - Acton - Ashton Fraser – Holzer Gardiner – Kostka Gysbers - Ranger Scrivens (There are rumblings of numerous lineup changes from last night as the Marlies have a lot of healthy scratches at the moment. These are last night's lines...at least what I could make of them.) Puck drop is at 3 PM and can be seen on Sportsnet or TVA Sports. If you're not near a TV or don't get those channels, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  9. Hey, here's a team we haven't seen in ages...or two weeks as the Marlies come to town to kick off a home-and-home matchup, the second of which will be on Sportsnet One tomorrow afternoon. Alexander Avtsin is expected to play in this one, it's about time. Projected Hamilton Lines: Quailer - Bournival - Palushaj Blunden - Dumont - Gallagher Nattinen - Boyce - Avtsin Holland - Berger - Stortini St. Denis - Ellis Beaulieu - Corbin Tinordi - Stejskal Desjardins Projected Toronto Lines: Komarov* – Aucoin – Abbott Kadri – Colborne – Scott Hamilton – Zigomanis – D’Amigo Deschamps – Acton – Ashton Gardiner – Kostka Fraser – Holzer Ranger – Gysbers Scrivens (Rynnas was supposed to start but got hurt in practice.) Notes: Matt Frattin may make his season debut tonight; if not, look for him to play tomorrow...just what we need. * - Komarov has agreed to terms with a team in the KHL but the two teams (them and the Leafs) are still working out the details to make it so he can return when the lockout ends. As such, he may play tonight. That surprises me but those lines are from the Marlies' site. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM and can be seen on TVA Sports or Cable 14 in Hamilton. Cable 14 does stream live but only if you're a Cogeco or Shaw internet subscriber. If you are, click here for their feed. If you're not near a TV or don't get those channels, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  10. The Bulldogs (4-3-1-1) travel to the Bell Centre in Montreal to try and salvage a split in this homestand vs the Crunch (6-1-1-1). Syracuse won the first game 3-0 on Wednesday, a game in which the Bulldogs were playing extra close attention to the play in the defensive end. Projected Syracuse lines: (These are guesses based on +/- data from previous games which means surely some of these will be wrong) Conacher - Killorn - Connolly Johnson - Palat - Panik Brown - Angelidis - Wyman Devos - Gauthier Cote - Taormina Barberio - Nightengale Korobov - Oberg Gugas Tokarski Projected Hamilton lines: Holland - Bournival - Gallagher Quailer - Geoffrion - Palushaj Dumont - Boyce - Blunden Nattinen - Berger - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Nash - Corbin Mayer Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play. The game can also be seen on TVA Sports on tape delay.
  11. The Bulldogs (4-2-1-1) will be in tough tonight as they begin a two 'home' game stretch against the Crunch (5-1-1-1). Syracuse is the new home for Tampa Bay's prospects meaning that this is more or less the same team that set new AHL records last season en route to the Calder Cup. Projected Syracuse lines: (These are guesses based on +/- data from previous games which means surely some of these will be wrong) Conacher - Killorn - Connolly Johnson - Palat - Panik Gauthier - Angelidis - Wyman Devos - Neilson Cote - Taormina Barberio - Nightengale Korobov - Oberg Gugas Tokarski Projected Hamilton lines: Holland - Bournival - Gallagher Quailer - Geoffrion - Palushaj Dumont - Boyce - Blunden Nattinen - Berger - Stortini Beaulieu - St-Denis Tinordi - Ellis Nash - Corbin Mayer (I imagine he'll start, maybe we'll be lucky and get Desjardins for Friday's game in Montreal) Puck drop is at 7:30 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play. The game can also be seen on TVA Sports on tape delay beginning at 10 PM EST. Tonight's game is also available on NHL Network Radio, Sirius 207, or XM 92.
  12. The Bulldogs (3-2-2) will look to split the weekend home-and-home as they host the Americans (6-2-1). Projected Hamilton Lines: Holland - Bournival -Gallagher Blunden - Geoffrion - Nattinen Quailer - Dumont - Palushaj Berger - Boyce - Stortini Tinordi-Pateryn Beaulieu-St. Denis Nash-Ellis Mayer (although I'm hoping it's Delmas) Projected Rochester Lines: Foligno - Hodgson - Rankin Adam - Varone - Mancari Girgensons - Porter - Flynn Tarnasky - Schofield - Roy Finley - Crawford McNabb - Pysyk Brennan - Biega Leggio Puck drop is at 7:05 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play. The game can also be seen on Sportsnet One and TVA Sports.
  13. The Bulldogs (3-2-1) will look to kick off the weekend home-and-home as they travel to Rochester to take on the Americans (5-2-1). Projected Hamilton Lines: Holland - Bournival -Gallagher Blunden - Geoffrion - Nattinen Quailer - Dumont - Palushaj Berger - Boyce - Stortini Tinordi-Pateryn Beaulieu-St. Denis Nash-Ellis Mayer * I'm assuming they'll keep the lines the same after Sunday's win but that's not confirmed as of yet. Projected Rochester Lines: Adam - Hodgson - Mancari Girgensons - Porter - Flynn Foligno - Varone - Rankin Tarnasky - Schofield - Roy Finley - Crawford McNabb - Pysyk Brennan - Biega Leggio * There is some speculation that Nick Crawford will draw in on the blueline for the Amerks but that's not yet confirmed either. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  14. Just tossing together a quick one as it's close to game time. It's the first matchup of the year between these once again division rivals. The Heat are the only AHL team to not yet lose in regulation. Mayer starts in net, Nash is expected to play in place of Corbin, and Berger is likely in for Hagel.
  15. Another week, another Marlies matchup. I haven't looked at the schedule the rest of the way but I presume that won't the last time those words are typed this season. It's yet another Battle of Ontario (counting preseason, the fifth one in less than a month) as the Bulldogs look to snap a two game losing streak. Projected Hamilton Lines: Holland - Bournival -Gallagher Blunden - Geoffrion - Nattinen Quailer - Dumont - Palushaj Hagel - Boyce - Stortini Tinordi-Pateryn Beaulieu-St. Denis Corbin-Ellis Delmas Projected Toronto Lines: Hamilton – Aucoin – Deschamps Komarov – Colborne – Zigomanis Kadri – McKegg – D'Amigo Ashton – Acton – Ryan Fraser – Gysbers Gardiner – Kostka Ranger – Yeo Scrivens Both the Bulldogs and Marlies have a preview up for this one with some gameday notes if anyone's interested. It's also a milestone game for PBP voice Derek Wills as he will call his 1,000th straight game (including playoffs). Puck drop is at 7:30 PM and can be seen on TVA Sports. If you're not near a TV or don't get that channel, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  16. Hamilton (2-1-0) looks to get back on the winning track as they travel to Rochester (3-2-0) to take on the Amerks. Expect some changes to the Bulldogs' lineup as Louis Leblanc is all but confirmed as out while Morgan Ellis is now apparently game ready. So, I'm guessing the lines will be as follows: Quailer-Geoffrion-Gallagher Palushaj-Bournival-Holland Nattinen-Boyce-Blunden Hagel-Dumont-Stortini Tinordi-Pateryn Beaulieu-St. Denis Ellis-Nash The starting goalie is TBD (please be Delmas, please be Delmas...) Rochester's projected lines: Adam-Hodgson-Mancari Girgensons-Porter-Flynn Foligno-Varone-Rankin Tarnasky-Schofield-Roy Finley-MacKenzie McNabb-Pysyk Brennan-Biega Leggio Puck drop is at 7:35 and as always, Funny820 will have the play-by-play.
  17. The Bulldogs will look for the home-and-home sweep as they travel to Toronto to take on the Marlies. Based on who was doing extra work after the optional skate this morning, it appears no lineup changes are in store meaning the lines once again will be: Quailer-Geoffrion-Gallagher Palushaj-Bournival-Holland Blunden-Boyce-Leblanc Hagel-Dumont-Stortini Tinordi-Pateryn Beaulieu-St. Denis Corbin-Nash Mayer For the Marlies, their lines are apparently as follows: Hamilton – Aucoin – Deschamps Komarov – Colborne – Zigomanis Kadri – McKegg – Scott Ashton – Acton – Ryan Fraser – Holzer Gardiner – Kostka Yeo – Blacker Rynnas Puck drop is at 7 PM and can be seen on Sportsnet One or TVA Sports. If you're not near a TV or don't get those channels, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.
  18. It's the home opener for the Bulldogs as they host division rival Toronto. No changes to the skaters are expected, meaning Hamilton's likes will look as follows: Quailer-Geoffrion-Gallagher Palushaj-Bournival-Holland Blunden-Boyce-Leblanc Hagel-Dumont-Stortini Tinordi-Pateryn Beaulieu-St. Denis Corbin-Nash Nattinen is listed among the extras suggesting he's a healthy scratch (along with Avtsin, Berger, and Ellis). I really, really hope that isn't the case as I'd much rather see him in the lineup over one of the two goons. No word on the goalie situation yet. Last week the hope was that Desjardins would be ready to play at least one of these games, let's hope that is the case. Toronto's lines are not yet available - they too are carrying 3 goalies and the rumblings are that all 3 will play in their 3-in-3 stretch (2 of which are against the Bulldogs). Puck drop is at 7:30 and can be seen on Cable 14 in Hamilton. Cable 14 does stream live but only if you're a Cogeco or Shaw internet subscriber. If you are, click here for their feed; if not, Funny820 as always will have the play-by-play.

  21. It's only preseason so I won't do a full GDT but the preseason for the Bulldogs kicks off tonight as they travel to Cobourg to take on the Marlies. No word on the lineups but I'll be able to listen to most of the game so I'll see what I can gather on the lines. Game time is 7 PM and it can be listened to on Funny820.
  22. In just under two hours from now, the floodgates will open as the free agency period begins. Obviously there should be a thread for each Hab signing but for the others plus rumours and whatnot can be discussed here. There wasn't much action yesterday beyond Paul Gaustad signing a 4 year, $13 million deal which makes me feel a lot better about Moen's $1.85 M, that's for sure.
  23. Day 2 of the draft is here, who will the Habs select after getting Galchenyuk yesterday? Right now, Montreal's remaining selections are as follows: 33 51 64 94 122 154
  24. Is this a stretch for a GDT? Probably but it's been a while since we've had one... The opening round of the draft goes tonight at 7 PM EST with the Habs selecting third. Stephane Leroux from RDS is speculating that Teravainen is who the Habs have their eye on. Use this thread to discuss the picks plus any rumours that pop up throughout the day.
  25. The final game of the season goes this afternoon for Hamilton as the Bulldogs look to end the season on a winning note. Active scoring leaders: Goals: Tomas Tatar (24) Assists: Jamie Johnson (37) Points: Johnson/Tatar (57) +/-: Doug Janik (+18) PIMS: Garnet Exelby (175) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Andreas Engqvist (20) Assists: St-Denis/Willsie (25) Points: Brian Willsie (43) +/-: Alex Henry (+2) PIMS: Zack FitzGerald (264) (3 behind the league leader, expect a fight and/or misconduct from him) Puck drop is at 3:00 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/
