Favourite Habs

  1. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=777552 In case you didn't know, Ramsay has a career reputation for helping powerplays and defensive units.
  2. It was rumoured to be close earlier this week and now it's official, the Habs have signed 2014 5th rounder Daniel Audette to a three year entry level deal. Why they did this a year early is the biggest question. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/07/habs-sign-daniel-audette-to-a-three-year-entry-level-contract/
  3. Well 'dlbalr' was right when he posted in the Bournival signing when talking about Tinordi to not "be surprised to hear of him signing in the near future". Two days is pretty near future. Very few details at this point but is for 1 year and is a two way contact. He will need to go through waivers to get to the AHL and would most certainly be claimed if the Habs tried it.
  4. One year, two-way deal. Financial terms undisclosed. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/07/habs-re-sign-michael-bournival/
  5. A bit of a surprise since it's rare college invites at development camp sign right away but the Habs have signed 23 year old d-man Ryan Johnston to a two year entry level deal. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/07/habs-sign-ryan-johnston/
  6. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=773467 PRESS RELEASE MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Wednesday that the team has agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract (2015-16) with free agent forward George "Bud" Holloway. Holloway, 27, played 42 games with Bern in Swiss National League A in 2014-15, recording 37 points (13 goals, 24 assists). The 6-foot, 200 -pound defenseman had a plus-7 differential and served 24 penalty minutes. Since making his professional debut in 2008-09, Holloway has collected 120 points (54 goals, 66 assists) in 191 games with the AHL’s Manchester Monarchs. He also played in the ECHL in 2008-09 and in Sweden (2011 to 2014). A product of the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds, Holloway totaled 197 points (95 goals, 102 assists) in 282 regular season games in the juniors. A native of Wapella, Saskatchewan, Holloway was selected in the third round, 86th overall by the Los Angeles Kings at the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. ---- Was a very good player for the Manchester Monarchs, went to Sweden and was excellent there as well and could be huge for the IceCaps. It says he's a defenceman but he's a right winger.
  7. 2 years, 750k/850k for a cap hit of $800,000 starting in 2016-17. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/07/greg-pateryn-signs-a-two-year-extension/
  8. 1 year, two-way deal. $$ undisclosed. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=773618
  9. 1 year, two-way deal. He played in Arizona's system last year. That's about all I know about him. I'll have to learn more as he'll be eligible for our prospect rankings. In other AHL news, T.J. Hensick, Hamilton's top point getter last year, signed with Carolina.
  10. The Habs have announced that they have re-signed Brian Flynn to a 2 year contact. I assume it will be quite cheap. Still waiting on details. This should come as a surprise to no one. Makes for a decent 13th forward.
  11. seems like a nice cheap deal for Habs? I would of expected a bit bigger salary.
  12. Torrey Mitchell resigns with Habs for 3 years. No other details http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=770960
  13. Minor news today, the Habs re-signed Gabriel Dumont and Morgan Ellis to one year deals. They'll both receive the league minimum $575,000 if they're in the NHL. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/06/habs-re-sign-gabriel-dumont-and-morgan-ellis/
  14. As I was doing the links this afternoon, I stumbled on a note that said that all of Montreal's assistant coaches have received three year extensions according to Renaud Lavoie. Original report (in French, look at the bottom): http://www.habsworld.net/out.php?21563
  15. It's already being talked about in the Frenzy thread but since it's a Hab signing, it gets its own thread. $850,000 for the 1 year.
  16. Link EDIT: There might be a blackout for people not in the region for Sportsnet East. Looking that up. People seem to be adamant there will be a blackout. Sportsnet East gets you 39 games alone.
  17. It's already being discussed in the arbitration thread but this warrants its own thread. 8 years, $72 million for Subban. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3470
  18. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/07/24/lars-eller-signs-four-year-3-5m-per-year-montreal-canadiens/ Official. Friedman had the breakdown of 2.5, 2.5, 4.25, 4.75
  19. Wow, actual news to talk about. Scherbak signed his entry level deal today. If he doesn't play in more than 9 games this year, the contract won't kick in until 2015-16 at the very least.
  20. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/06/23/montreal-canadiens-sign-andrei-markov-three-year-deal/ http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=723488 PRESS RELEASE MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Monday that the team has agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with defenseman Andrei Markov (2014-15 to 2016-17). “We are very happy to have secured a long term agreement with Andrei. He is an important part of our group of core players. He is healthy, shows a very good work ethic and has great leadership skills. He plays big minutes against the top opponents, and game-changing defensemen of his calibre are hard to find” said Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin. “I am very pleased to be a member of the Montreal Canadiens organization for the coming years. I love Montreal and I am very confident in our group of players. I want to contribute to the success of our team,” said Andrei Markov.
