Favourite Habs

  1. Daniel Carr and Connor Crisp sign ELCs. Scouting Reports on both. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/04/24/scouting-reports-habs-signees-daniel-carr-connor-crisp/
  2. http://lastwordonsports.com/2014/03/31/hamilton-bulldogs-sign-forwards-connor-crisp-brady-vail/
  3. It's minor news but hey, a signing is a signing. The Habs have signed QMJHL tough guy Jack Nevins to an entry level contract. From what I understand, since he was 20 when the season began, he'll burn the first year of his ELC this year even though he's in junior. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3266
  4. Habs just announced a one year deal for Douglas Murray. Curious to see the price tag but a good fill-in for Emelin while he comes back from surgery.
  5. The Habs announced after the scrimmage today that 2nd rounder Zach Fucale signed an entry-level contract. He'll be eligible for a contract slide and won't count against the 50 this year. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3189
  6. It took an awful long time but Dustin Tokarski finally signed a one year contract. Financial terms aren't yet known but I'm anxious to see how close the NHL portion is to his qualifying offer. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=680461
  7. Dreger is reporting that Desharnais has been extended. No details yet.
  8. Per Renaud Lavoie, Gabriel Dumont has inked a two year, two way deal with the Habs. 13-14: $550k/$125k 14-15: $575k/$175k https://twitter.com/RenLavoieRDS/statuses/355012369019179008
  9. The good news? The Bulldogs get some scoring help and grit. The bad news? 2 more years of Robert Mayer. St. Pierre: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=676942 Tarnasky: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=676938 Mayer: http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=676936
  10. The Habs signed undrafted free agent Stefan Fournier to a 3 year, entry-level deal. He played for Halifax last season and is currently at their development camp. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=677040
  11. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=675587 2 way contract of course.
  12. At the same time that the Habs finalized the Nygren contract, they also announced the signing of Sebastian Collberg to a 3 year, entry level deal. He still has junior eligibility so unless he cracks the Montreal roster, this deal technically won't kick in until 2014-15 (it will slide a year). http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=671505
  13. I had a hunch this was going to happen, the Habs have signed Davis Drewiske to a 2 year extension, financial terms aren't disclosed. With Emelin out (and likely Weber) as well, there was a potential spot for him to be the 'regular #7.' http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=3102
  14. The other prospects got their own threads so he can too. The Habs' 3rd rounder from last June's draft has signed his entry-level deal. Like Collberg, he's junior eligible next season and if he plays there, it will 'slide' a season. http://canadiens.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=672517
  15. It's not official yet (the contract has to be registered with the NHL and IIHF) but the Habs and Magnus Nygren have reportedly come to terms on a 2 year ELC. They had until June 1st to sign him. Note that this does not guarantee he'll be in Hamilton next year, they may opt to keep him with his SEL team. http://www.nwt.se/sport/folj_fbk/article1308007.ece (Swedish link)
  16. The Habs have agreed to terms with goaltender Mike Condon on a two year, entry level contract. Early reports say it's a particularly expensive one at that. He finished up his college career with Princeton earlier this year and got into 4 ECHL plus 8 AHL games this season (including 3 AHL playoff contests). The official announcement is coming today apparently. http://www.westerncollegehockeyblog.com/2013/5/8/4312426/montreal-canadians-sign-princeton-goaltender-mike-condon-carey-price-pete-budaj
  17. With no other news today, it's thread-worthy. Of note, it's a 2 year deal commencing this season. Financial terms were not disclosed, I'd expect to see a considerable amount of bonuses in there.
  18. FINALLY!! Financial details not yet revealed. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/355488.html
  19. Some depth for the Bulldogs, both players are on TW contracts.
  20. I'd say the Hab signings deserve their own thread for discussion. 1 year, $1 M for him. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2851
  21. According to the Chicago Tribune http://www.chicagotr...0,2786635.story
  22. Hey everyone, Earlier this month I am currently in the process of writing an article series on how to build a championship hockey team in the modern NHL. I was curious about the opinions of the public on this matter and thought what better way than to post a thread in the forum. You can read the first article in the series here: http://habsworld.net/article.php?id=2784 If I get enough responses I will include them in a mailbag part of the series. Thanks, Mitchell
