Favourite Habs

  1. The first trade of the day as they acquire Petry. Not sure what its for. All they say is draft picks. *update* second and conditional fifth. The conditions are that it turns to a fourth if we win a playoff round and a third if we win two
  2. TSN 690 reporting the trade. Smith-Pelly is more physical but a lower offensive ceiling, but who knows how much of that potential Sekac ever fufills. Personally not loving the trade but not hating it either. Time will tell.
  3. Theres the third one. Habs add more to the depth. Prospect and a pick going back. Mitchell is only 5'11" so doesn't add size to the lineup. *update* Jack Nevins and a 7th round pick in 2016
  4. Bryan Allen is in his final year of his contract with 3.5 million dollar cap hit. Shoots left, age 34, 6'5".
  5. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/canadiens-acquire-tangradi-from-jets-for-budaj-holland/article20937437/ No pick? Not sure what I think of this?
  6. Gorges to BUF for a 2016 2nd rounder.
  7. Somehow the Habs also get a 5th round pick in the deal.
  8. Louis Leblanc traded to Anaheim for a conditional 2015 5th round pick... Huh...
  9. The Habs have added to their blueline, acquiring Mike Weaver from Florida for a 5th rounder in 2015. He's a small d-man but plays a sound defensive game.
  10. Apparently Price is going to miss some time, the Habs have picked up Devan Dubnyk from Nashville for future considerations. Though he's making $3.5 M, his cap hit will be less with Montreal. Edmonton ate half his salary when they dealt him and Nashville is eating some here.
  11. Habs and Kings make a minor AHL deal: Steve Quailer is out, Robert Czarnik is in. Czarnik: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=17501 Quailer: http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=15531
  12. Canadiens Montréal @CanadiensMTL Canadiens acquire George Parros from Florida, in exchange for Philippe Lefebvre and a 7th round pick in 2014.
  13. Just got left off of the camp list and then dealt to the Rangers. Not liking this trade unless there are picks involved, which so far I don't see.
  14. Bergevin didn't make any trade in his 1st Deadline Day! Why holding to all those 2nd round picks? 5th for Comeau, 4th for Smithson, price wasn't that high. Torres moved for a 3rd (!) round pick to a division rival(!!). There were other interesting options. I don't understand this. I like our team but thought we had room to add.
  15. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=419706 5th rounder going to LA.
  16. Unless Bob Mackenzie just got hacked on twitter it looks like we`ve just send Erik Cole to the Stars for Michael Ryder. shocked.... here's the link: https://twitter.com/TSNBobMcKenzie/status/306541777597382658 Having a hard time understanding this... I guess Therrien liked Ryder last time he was here...
  17. Canadiens acquire goaltender Dustin Tokarski from the Tampa Bay Lightning in return for Cédrick Desjardins
  18. In a deal that really shouldn't come as much of a surprise to anyone, the Habs dealt Brendon Nash to the Panthers today in exchange for defenceman Jason DeSantis. They were dealt for each other in the AHL a couple of weeks back. http://www.habsworld.net/article.php?id=2974
  19. Deal is done according to RDS/TSN/SNET, no word on the return.
  20. if the montreal canadiens want to go anywhere for this season or for the future they must drop the weight holding them down, namely the european players that play for a big contract and then sit on it and go through the motions of amusing theirselves off and on the ice, showing up some nights and very well hidden on others.get rid of the extra weight and bring in the canadian players who play the game with their hearts and souls and have pride in this quickest and toughest game to ever be played. guaranteed they won,t turn their backs to an oncoming check or on their team mates.after all it is our game and we are the best at it. what do you think?
  21. <p> <img border="0" src="http://www.thefourthperiod.com/trade_deadline/tradedeadline2012.gif" width="566" height="263"></p> <p> </p> <p>The NHL's Trade Deadline is just hours away and with the Habs sitting dead last in the Eastern Conference, it's somewhat safe to assume the Habs are going to be selling. This is the place to be to get the news as it happens.
