Sportsnet.ca - On a busy trade day in the Eastern Conference, the Maple Leafs landed Rangers' defenceman Brian Leetch, Sportsnet has learned. Leafs Suck Posted March 4, 2004 Share Posted March 4, 2004 Oh no, not Brian Leetch! He has more assists this year on opponents goals then anyone else... He is weak in his own end. It's a typical Leaf cop out... Gonchar or Leetch... Similiar styles... One is the top scoring defenseman in the league, the other is over-the-hill, slow and injure pron... Each are gonna cost alot, so what do the Leafs do? Go for Leetch... If I had a choice, I'd take Gonchar is a heart-beat (which isn't saying much)... How many games have they had a wopping lead just to blow it late in the game. Their defence is ugly at best. How can they think this will help? An offensive defenceman who sucks at defence. They have tons of firepower...dumbasses Leetch does not suck on the defensive side of the ice. He's one of the best 2-way D in the league. But he is 36 years old and injury prone...
