habsfan88
Who, in your opinion, should get the start Wednesday vs. the Caps and why? I say Halak because he played well enough tonight and I think he deserves another crack at it because he was successful tonight in Columbus and probably would've had a shutout if his teammates didn't abandon him on several occasions. That pretty much sums up why he should play again...

habsfan88
Ya, it should be a no-brainer, but i have a feeling that starting Abby is something Carbonneau would do lol
Aebischer4life
Carbo himself said that if Halak plays a good game he will start. 31 saves on 33 shots... Shutout in the first 52 minutes? I say he played pretty good!

I say he played pretty good! Yeah, he didn't make any spectacular saves but we've gotta stick with him, especially when Aebischer is struggling. Having a new face between the pipes could give the skaters some hope.
Psycing
Halak... team is bound to play hard for the rookie a little while longer.
Prime Minister Koivu
I would pile the entire team and season on Halak's back. Don't tell the kid that! Just do it and sing his praises to keep him motivated. What have we got to loose?
smon
Precisely. Halak deserves the start, he didn't let in any weak ones.
JMMR
Start him until he loses/play poorly. Aebischer was less than alright aginst the Canes.
MAK
I say eabischer. I want mtl to lose as many games as possible until the 27 th I think that with eabischer, we have a better chance to lose

MAK
That sums it up perfectly. Sorry. but I m not giving up on a playoff drive yet. understand you want to clear house at deadline, but if the laughs can turn their season around, why can't we? my problem with this team is that I don't see improvement, only aging players. I would be quite upset if wed lose all of our UFAs without getting squat in return. thats why I want montreal to place themselves in position t get at least on prospect or a 1st round pick. justintb
I like Abby...I don't know what it is about the guy...he just looks so right in a Habs jersey. I know he can sh*t the bed sometimes, but in most cases he gets shellacked with shots on so many occasions. He is also a shootout specialist! Something that Huet is somewhat weak at! Halak got a win tonight, but I see some flaws in his play already...I think against Washington, with so many talented snipers...Abby needs the start. It's not like he's played bad for us all season, why try and ruin this Halak kid's trade value!
MAK
so far the problems with aebischer are his rebounds and propency to give a bad goal at the worst of times.
Habsfan24
Halak without question. I have nothing against Abby but he is not playing his best recently. I was very impressed last night with the puck handling and control of Halak and his technical skill in goal. Ride this guy until he starts playing poorly/ starts losing. JoeLassister
so far the problems with aebischer are his rebounds and propency to give a bad goal at the worst of times. Those rebounds are nasty. Long and right on some oppenents stick.
Habitforming
Halak deserves the start, but I think it would destroy any confidence Aebischer has right now to start the rookie in back to back games. Aebischer needs the chance to prove he can continue the teams improvement. If he loses his next game though, then start Halak until the season is over or Huet comes back. Pretty smart analogy.............
MAK
Ya that will really get his trade value up too. Pretty smart analogy............. he ain't going to be traded. you can't have danis and halak in montreal at the same time.
Bacchus
he ain't going to be traded. you can't have danis and halak in montreal at the same time. Why not? Because you don't think they could handle it? Or because that would leave the Bulldogs in a bad position? Personally I think they could do it, but for the good of their organization they ought to keep at least one of them in the AHL. And if Halak stumbles, or doesn't do amazing, they could send him down and call up Danis possibly (unless their is some stupid waiver one of them would have to pass). MAK
Why not? Because you don't think they could handle it? Or because that would leave the Bulldogs in a bad position? don't think that aebischer has much value right now. as for the kids, it would be alot of pressure for rookies. not that I don't think they could do it but I just think it wouldn't look good at all. honestly, I don't think that gainey would want to dismantle(sp??) a winning team in hamilton. those kids could learn alot by going in the playoffs even if it's only in the AHL.
