Kovalev was awseome again tonight ...

Like last game? When he was -3 with 0 points.

Prove it! Lets go I'm waiting!!!!!

I check hfboards regularly and did not see such a thing. By the way how could they confirm what he said if there was no freakin tape released?

You moron. Read the Russian forum.

I'm outta here. You guys are just too clueless to warrant the time and effort.

How come the mods dont do anythign about this? I remembered you called another guy "dickhead" in another thread too.

By the way if you're gonna listen to some dumb 15 year old kids on a forum and believe them then go ahead.

If Kovalev had said those things, do you think Carbo would still be playing him? He would be in the pressbox with his friend Samsonov.

The Russian media is well known to have a lot of fabricated stories and their papers are considered tabloid esque.

Also last game Kovalev was good sure he was on the ice for a 3 goals against but none of those were his fault infact he had his man each and every time. He also was great in the defensive zone getting the puck out and on the PK.

There are some Russian fans on Hockey's Future who live in Russia and speak both Russian and English perfectly well. They confirmed that Kovalev called Carbonneau a racist along with all of the other things. They said the journalist is pretty well known and respected in the country and so is the publication she writes for. They also said that the audio interview was the same as the written story. These people aren't Habs fans, or anti Habs fans. They have no stake in the matter. Someone brought the story to their attention and asked them to translate and confirm it. They did and also dismissed the claim that the journalist or the media outlets she works for were sensationalist or unreliable. I believe them, they have no reason to lie or twist things. Kovalev does. And did. Jack Todd and a couple of other journalists who follow the team said that it was exactly like Kovalev to do something like that. I don't have any reason to doubt them. Kovalev also changed his story a couple of times which is usually a good sign someone is lying.

You want to think Kovalev is a great guy and a credit to the uniform, go ahead. I don't and I just stated why I don't. But no need to stoop to petty personal insults.

You want to believe that Kovalev out of the blue decided to befreind some guys from the Gaspe and give them the royal treatment for a couple of days, be my guest. I've got a great used car that I hate to part with, but you seem like such a good guy, I'll reluctantly sell it to you. For a fair price of course. B)

I assume you're referring to this thread? It seems rather open-ended if you ask me.

Yeah and that whole translation doesnt really prove anything since theyre just translating what the article said.

Well the article is just BULL...so yeah.

Pretty much. According to several of the posters, the newspaper is credible by Russian standards, but how much is that really saying?

Well, call my a cynic, but I have a little difficulty imagining Kovalev just picking up the phone book one day and dialing up a few residents of the Gaspe. They can barely speak French out there, much less English or Russian.

Speaking of slandering...why are you slandering someone who came for peanuts in a trade for Josef F'n Balej?

Can you please explain to me where Josef is these days? And lets do a little comparison....

Kovalev-112 Regular Season Points, 17 Playoff Game points

Balej-5 Regular Season Points, 0 playoff game points (Currently in the AHL for Manitoba)

*Note, Kovalev finished with more points than Koivu last season, and also more playoff points in both seasons

of playoffs

Put that in your pipe and smoke it, hes an amazing hockey player and a key contributor to the Canadiens along with being a great person in general. Second of all I think that Russian newspaper is a crock of sh*t and I don't believe it for a second...But if it is, who cares...he looked just fine tonight, and at the end of the day, he's still putting points up on the board.

I'll ignore the fact that you're trusting random message board posters off the internet.

But after bashing Todd in the worst ways every time he's mentioned you now you consider him reliable? I like Todd but you find him a fraud so using him as your proof just takes away from your credibility.

OK enought already. I haven't posted on this subject, because frankly I don't care, but Bobby and some others are whipping a dead freakin horse. Even if he did say that stuff about racism, get over it. At this point, the Habs are better with Kovy than without him. He scored two goals last night and that's all it takes for me. He's forgiven for what he did or did not say. Politics doesn't win hockey games. Goals do. If he plays he stays, if he doesn't he'll be down the road. End of story! Let's move on.

Bobby and other gossipers... all replies will be ignored by me. I would suggest others do the same.

Can you believe he actually CALLED those people himself and told them to come? And then when they were done meeting him and were gonna leave he told them WHERE ARE YOU GUYS GOING? Give these 4 people tickets to the game tonight. Then he told them when I score tonight I will give you guys the puck and he did.

If thats not classy I dont know what is!

Not to mention after every Habs game he goes into his personal lodge to meet all the sick kids tjat he gives his lodge to every game.

Russian incident, true or not, just shows to you how some people's perspective (the bad ones) of him on the ice are totally different then his off-ice actions. A true class act.

Don't you know that Balej had 58 points in 55 games with the Bulldogs as a 21 year old and Chris Higgins had 48 points in 67 games with the Bulldogs as a 21 year old. Hence Montreal really traded the wrong prospect and if they had kept Balej instead of Higgins that we would be better off today.

Hence the bitterness towards Kovalev. Doesn't this all make sense to you guys??? Are you guys this dumb??

Wait a Minute...are you saying that Josef Balej, that BUM who is an AHLer now is better than Higgins (a future captain and a shorthanded specialist)? Are you saying that Christopher Higgins hasn't shown heart? Also, are you accusing Higgins of belonging in the AHL? You are off your rocker, let me ask you a question.....Have you taken your medication today?

Buddy you need a brain transplant! Take a hike!
