Chris
I though Stewart was great in his game. Showed alot more then D'Agastini did. I don't watch Hamilton obviously, i assume Stewart is a 4th line grind guy with great speed? He impressed me more then the other callups including Grabovski. Atleast you noticed Stewart on every shift.
markierung
They have a long way to go to beat the 2005 draft, but thats a nice thing to work on Its great to read about our future stars, and we have enough upcoming youth! *but damn are we good at late picks recently! Sergei/Halak/Streit (valentenko/D'agostini) almost the next detroit (hopefully)
CerebusClone
Subban and Weber have shown some very good things this season, but they also happen to play for powerhouses in the OHL. On one hand, I'm a bit concerned that despite their great season on paper, they rarely (or at least that's what it seemed to me) managed to be named amonst the three-stars in regaular season games. However, I do like the fact that they both again raised their game to the next level in the playoffs, and that they both did good things at the WJC (making the team was already a great accomplishment for Subban). As for Fortier, his lack of offense doesn't look good for his future in the NHL, and it was even worse before Frolik came back a few weeks into the season. As great and smart as he might be, good defensive players in the NHL were very often good offensive players at lower levels. Without using Carbonneau as a standard (he was a stud in the juniors), the best defensive players in the NHL today such as Jay Pandolfo, Mike Peca, Rod Brind'Amour (we'll he's also great offensively), Derek Armstrong, Jere Lehtinen, or even Kris Draper all looked pretty good offensively as juniors. Actually, even Kyle Chipchura was carrying the offense for the Raiders practically by himself, and managed to average exactly a point-per-game ration in his last 2 seasons in the defense-oriented WHL. Let's just hope that Fortier suffered from a lack of support in Rimouski, but he'll have to step up next season if he doesn't want to be the best defensive forward in the AHL for his entire career... TheAussiePosse
White was named CHL Player of the Week. I can't see this guy up on the Habs. WHITE POWER! And seeing him with the KKK line (Koivu, Kovalev, Kostitsyns, Kostopolous ... take your pick). We'll be lynched by November if that was the case... tokyohabs
So the Bulls qualify automatically for the Memorial Cup, because of Kitchener being the home team? I saw that Subban had a goal and an assist in their win today, btw.

Chris
The NHL network showed the games in the tournament over the weekend so i got to see Weber and Subban. The Bulls play again tonight on tv. I'll just report what i saw, it's not to be critical, i've never seen CHL games before. I wasn't very impressed with either one of them. Subban has a good shot from the point, a good skater. He is a turnover factory, he is definitely dangerous in all 3 zones. He did have a big hit. Weber was equally as bad, it was his first game back from injury, like Subban very good on the PP, he has a bomb from the point. Decent passer, his ankle injury may be taking away from his mobility. He took 2 dumb penalties and i didn't even notice him unless the Rangers were on the PP.
Tony
I saw Weber a handful of times and I saw Subban a couple of times and Subban is way superior. From the games I saw Weber, his only asset is his shot. Weber gets no PK and barely any 5 on 5 ice time. Hopefully, he can work on his defensive game in Hamilton next season. Obviously, whenever Kitchener has a powerplay, they constantly feed the puck to Weber for him to shoot and he plays the whole PP time. He reminds me of a poor man's Joe Corvo (or Souray). Subban on the other hand is much more dynamic. Everyone knows he has an excellent shot and his skating is unbelievable (not to mention his attitude). Tonight's game versus Gatineau was a good example of Subban showing that he can play an important piece of big games. He played a bit on the PK but obviously his specialty is on the PP. He knows how to enter the offensive zone, is patient with the puck. He isn't solely focused on just shooting the puck but also on building plays. He creates space and likes to move around from the point. He plays a decent amount of 5 on 5. He's likes to play the puck more than the body and works hard around the boards. One thing that simply is beautiful to watch is whenever he gets the puck in his defensive zone and goes coast to coast. He just walks through everyone. My NHL comparable to him would have to be a Brian Campbell type defender. I say Campbell because both of them are known for their speed, their hits and they're ability in the offensive department. tokyohabs
Campbell, I will take that in a second. Lesser Campbell, also that.
Tony
Well I wasn't sure about the level of how close he'd be a comparable to Brian Campbell. Subban's work ethic is off the charts so at this point it all depends on his drive and passion to make an impact. He has the makings to be more than a PP specialist from the looks of things. The rest all depends on him.
