brobin
At what point are they going to realize the cross pass isn't working and start shooting... let the other guy go for the rebound... The Bruins are picking those passes off because everyone in the rink knows its coming..
KoZed
Tempo picked up by the end of the 1st, if the 2nd is the same this is going to be another freaking nerve-wracking game
lazy26
Decent road period. We need to be skating more and stop giving up the neutral zone.
Wamsley01
Lots of open ice out there. Another opportunity to finish this off without the grind of the 2nd-4th game. The PP really needs to get going. Koivu has provided an early spark, let's hope it continues through the rest of the game. Price was sharp as well. Good start for a road game. Captain_Stealth
It's already been said. The Habs are playing way too passive. Looking for that cross seam pass and just aren't finding it. The Habs may be up 1-0 nothing and Higgins had himself a great 1st period IMO, however, they need to keep things simple and do what the Bruins are doing and JUST TAKE THE DAMN SHOT! Hopefully they can implement these little things into their game and continue to build on that 1 goal lead.

SAKS-AVENUE
We miss Souray? No we don't. We were #1 all year and if we had Souray we wouldn't have the HAMMER. We're good, we just need to finish Boston off and our powerplay will click again.

It buries him and Higgins deep and creates a transition opportunity which is what the Bruins gameplan is geared towards. Two guys driving the net, throw it on net and see what happens. Luckily Koivu got back to take the high man on that play

Luckily Koivu got back to take the high man on that play That's the problem, guys are not driving the net so the only solution is cross-ice passes. It's the same thing I've pointed out the other night about Higgins waiting from a pass from Dandy instead of driving the net. ITS DANDY, HE CAN'T PASS! The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Early in the period Pleks was showing the way - drive to the net and shoot shoot shoot. It's tough, though...the Bruins really are aggressive on the man, especially at the point. Markov can't respond as he normally would, and he's the pivot that makes us go. Part of the reason we look 'passive' is that there's always a Bruin right on top of us and the guy who ahs the skill to open up the ice (Markov) is out of it. I'm wondering about Hamrlik, though. That period was atypical for him; might he be playing hurt too - ? Edited April 19, 2008 by The Chicoutimi Cucumber
brobin
We miss Souray? Well, he certainly would have taken some shots.. he had a simple strategy.. screw finesse, blast it... Someone needs to get some quality shots. They are taking shots from the goal line. Kovy can do it when the puck comes across, but you can't pass it down the boards to a guy practically behind the net and shoot at a goalie on the post. Frustrating... cube took a good shot, but there was no one near the net to screen. Hopefully they will get the PP going soon.. imo, that is the difference in this series. Luckily Koivu got back to take the high man on that play Exactly. The more shots you take, the increased chance a bounce goes you're way and that way it creates less quick turnovers to commence the Boston attack. Koivu had a pretty good period considering he's been out for quite a while. Can only be a good sign.

Jean
I really hope we finish 'em tonight, i'm getting real sick of seein the Bruins. 14 games against the same team in a year, time to move on to another opponent..
KoZed
Bruins are the ones who are over-confident now. Sturm about Price being good so far "Oh, we'll see. Last game too he was good for half the first period" Like they're expecting Price to self-implode again...
