Fanpuck33_
His hearing is this Thursday, the 5th. I think he should only get a small raise, to 2 million. He led the team in goals, but still only had 50 points.
Psycing
He deserves a raise, how much, I dont kno... I'm sure he can net at MOST... 3 million... but... that is a lot... Either way, him being my favorite player on the team, as long as he stays around, I'm happy... lol
bombTHEice
Zednik has signed a new contract, forget the arbitration! :/) http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect...newsItemID=3891 I know it's just a headline, but it's the same as it was before Huet signed. Habs77
Zednik is apparently signed for 3 years... can't wait to see the numbers, and whether that 3rd year is an option for either side. And no "no trade" clauses please. Still missing a winger on each line except the 3rd: Zednik-Koivu-??? Ryder-Ribeiro-??? Bulis-Bonk-Sundstrom ???-Begin-Ward Kids or UFAs to fill those spots, still the question to be answered. And will stay status quo on D? Hell, if there's not going to be a season... what's the rush. Tony_
3 years That good news. As far as the second line goes, the club picked up Dagenais' option a while ago. Wouldn't he play on the 2nd line? They did have a good chemistry. As far as the fouth line goes, Morgan could (big emphasis on the word could) be there. He does have 6 games of NHL experience but I doubt that enough to fill the spot. On the bright side, there's a Kostitsyn artcile posted on the front page. That could be some hope if Habs don't sign any new UFAs. edit: speaking of Kostitsyn, I'm guessing this is the press release that was mentioned in the article. http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect...newsItemID=3889 [Edited on 2004/8/4 by Tony]
Bonavistaman11
I dont think theres any worries about the first line.. Before the season starts I think Gainey will definitely have a first line winger for the Koivu Line.... The question is who will it be?? My first choice would be Kovalev!! As for the 2nd line, gainey needs to get a left winger badly... Its a shame for two great players like Ribeiro and Ryder to have to play with Dagenais.. :ghg:
Tony_
Playing ability wise, I don't think Dagenais is that bad. If he could work in his speed and his checking when he plays it would make him a better player. Attitude wise, I still won't forget when Dowd made his way to Phoenix (when he debuted with Montreal). They had this thing on RDS and showed Dowd meeting his teammates. Every player that came out shaked his hand and welcomed him, hell even Chad Kilger did it and then Dagenais comes, Dowd extends his hand and he just walks along as nothing happend. Yeah, i remember that. What an ass. I think that the habs could find a better replacement than him for the second line. Dags can put up some decent numbers though, so i think that he might end up on the line, unless montreal signs a free agent to take the spot, or hopefully a prospect comes up and takes his spot maybe Kostitsyn?? that would be awsome! Natural Mystic
Here's a link from tsn. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=93611 The 28-year-old Slovakian earned $1.85 million last season, when he had 26 goals and 24 assists. His new deal calls for annual salaries of $2.3 million, $2.4 million and $2.6 million.
UWHabs
I'd say Andrei could maybe come in and try to fill a top 2 line spot. Hard to say. I also have a feeling they're trying to shadow this one announcing at the same time as Zednik signing. I guess trying to take some pressure off of him. Psycing
Zednik for 3 years... WOO HOO... lol, yea, well, that's if we don't trade him for some KRAZY reason. Anywayz, I'm Hoping that Kostitsyn will be able to make the team, he could potentially play with ribs and ryder... i Think that would be a powerful line. as far as the 4th line goes, I think someone will surprise us in training camp, and, take the spot. Either that, or BG will pick up another free agent.... only time can tell.

Tony_
For what he brings to the team, it ain't expensive if you ask me. Zednik is a quality winger and a great asset to the habs.
