No way mahn, Belgians put chocolate and cherry in their beers, you want a good German pilsener, not friggin' Haagen-Daz

JMMR
First stop: German beers! You have an itinerary? I know you said 'hitchhike' but that's not as easy/common as it used to be, a Eurail pass could give you added options for getting round... I am getting the Eurail pass it looks awesome and makes North American travel look terribly overpriced. If you should happen to end up in Västerås, Sweden, you might want to check out our cathedral. I may end up in Sweeden not sure where yet though. If I ended up there would you care to meet for a beer? If you want to try real good beer aka the best beer in the world, visit belgium!!!! I will try lots of beers I plan on making a beer journal actually. No way mahn, Belgians put chocolate and cherry in their beers, you want a good German pilsener, not friggin' Haagen-Daz Beer and Ice Cream sounds good. I live near the Grolsch brewery, dont talk about germany or belgium Do they do tours? If so how much? Whats it like if you have been? Anyone know anything about Estonia? Zowpeb
When I did my European tour I absolutely loved Brussels and Rome... Amsterdam was fun but I was happy to have only stayed for a few days there. More then that and I likely would have burned out...and I was there when they split the European Cup with Brussels, so it was insane. As for the comments on beers...there are something like 400+ micro-breweries in Belgium. I had a pint of Kriek and thought it was a phenomonal cherry beer...nice and light taste compared to a honey brown so you could still drink a tonne of it (unlike the honey brown). Unfortunately, when I've found it over here by the bottle it was terrible...was likely going skunky. Worst beer I had in Belgium was called Delirium...thought it was awful. If you stop in Rome or Paris I would recommend a full week in both...minimum. There is just too much to do/see in each city.

JoeLassister
I feel in love with a belgian beer called Kwak. hope you enjoy it. Same here with Delirium Tremens. It is a brand of Belgian strong pale ale produced by Huyghe Brewery in Melle. Oh and that is funny : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delirium_tremens
Dutch_Habs_Fan
Do they do tours? If so how much? Whats it like if you have been? Yeah they do tours..i've been in the old factory and that was great fun, especially the tasting afterwards..that factory was demolished cuz of that fireworks disaster that happened a couple of years back. Never been to the new one, so i would be up for that as well! Estonia: They say Tallinn is a beautifull old city.

JoeLassister
its not as funny when you'r dealing with people in delirium tremens... well... I meant... giving a beer THIS name is somewhat funny.... well.... IMO... the opinion of someone whoe doesn't deal with delirium tremens.... well... I sometimes deal with the actual beer.... sometimes because this beer is 3$ per piece... not the syndrom....

JMMR
Enjoy! Oh, when you get back you won't recognize the Habs! Oh I have seen the changes was not orignally impressed with the Gomez deal but if not for that there is no way they would have aquired many if not all of the other players And Mathieu what I left could not come close to repaying you for the hospitality you showed me once again thank you
mathieu30
You're more than welcome!! Maybe we should ask Dutchie when he wants us to come visit, and than meet up overhere and I'll drive us there. We're not taking a holiday this summer, too busy, but it shouldn't be a problem to take a weekend off.. So dutchie.. when..??
