Spider-Man NL
http://habsinsideout.com/main/18713 Weber gets spot on the PP by Pat Hickey Yannick Weber will be on the point for the Canadiens power play against Boston Thursday night but coach Bob Gainey isn't sure where the 20-year-old Swiss defenceman fits in when the team is at even strength. Weber was recalled from Hamilton today and Doug Janik was returned to the Bulldogs. Gainey said he made the move because it changes the style of the team. Gainey is hoping that Weber's skills can help the power play, which is 0-for-6 in two games since losing Andrei Markov and Mathieu Schneider last Saturday. Gainey said he may dress seven defencemen with Mathieu Dandenault back on the blue line and Weber being confined to power-play duties. There's also the possibility that Weber could see action as a forward, playing the same role fellow Helvetian Mark Streit played in Montreal. There's no news on Schneider or Markov but Gainey did confirm that they are out indefinitely. Gainey hasn't settled on a goaltender for Thursday's game but said he's leaning toward Carey Price. TheDriveFor25
"Leaning towards Carey Price"??????????????? WHAT? Of course you go with Carey! In times like this, your best players have to win games for you, and he is (regardless of what some of you might think) is our BEST goalie. Speaking of.. not trying to jinx anything, but when the hell is the last time Carey got a shut out? GO HABS GO CAREY! CAREY! CAREY! This is a game we need A.Kost to play well in. If we can get two lines flying and our third line playing like they have, we'll be fine, regardless of how many dmen are on line 4. And one more thing.. I dont care if it costs him 2,5, and a 10.. but Laraque needs to hit the ice with intent on grabbing Lucic and putting a beating on him. I know Lucic will be chicken poop and not drop the gloves, but still.. get him George!
tokyohabs
Great thread, thanks Spidey. KILL THE SCUM! Utter destruction in front of the neanderthals. This lower mutated aberration exterminated at all costs. P*ss on their parade big-time, lads. Stewart and Laraque double-shift against Lucic, let's see if the sh*thead will dare throw them down against Laraque. Jump him, watch him turtle. Run Thomas every chance we get. MFT77
Here's a thought on what i would like to see happen against the B's. On the Habs first PP, use Laraque and have him take a few liberties with Thomas. Maybe slash him or even run him if he plays the puck behind the net. Then see if one of the B's will step in. Thus, even if BGL takes a penalty it will just make it 4 on 4. But at least that way the tone will be set. Anyone else like that idea. Probably unlikely to happen though. The Chicoutimi Cucumber
What Laraque should do is grab Lucic on the earliest possible shift and pound the living sh*t out of him. Unprovoked, merciles, savage beating. Yes, we will have to kill off an instigator penalty, but we need something radical to change the karma since the Komsarek fight. :hlogo: Realistically though, ya gotta be pessimistic about this game...but hey, I ain't here to be a killjoy. Agreed...Laraque has to jump him and just start throwing...if he turtles, punch him in the back of the neck a few times...that'll put him out for the rest of the game and then some. Trizzak
An awful lot of violence being promoted in this thread. How about Laraque plays a clean, physical game and forces Lucic into a fight through big, punishing hits?

I think we've already seen that Lucic is a douche who won't fight against real heavyweights...he's a spot picking chickensh!t, so he'll have to be forced into it by being forced to defend himself. Prime Minister Koivu
Thanks for the thread Spidey. We all know that Laraque is not going to jump anyone, he isn't going to run Thomas and we will be lucky if he can skate fast enough to make a big hit. Our only hope is that Price is on his game tonight.

Chris
Hey Raf, I beleive Halak was tiated the last time he played and only faced 23 shots. Not 45. Bashing Price, Laraque as problems on this team is total non sense. They do there job. Funny how people seem to forget how bad the vets, defense, leadership, work ethic, coaching, physical play, etc have been since the 10 game mark of the year. Arguably the biggest losers on this team this year are wearing the C, A, A Higgins and Hamrlik. A few good games against bottom feeders doesn't change a season long meltdown. By the way, blow out by the Bruins 5-1. No heart, no effort. I say they put forth a solid 15 minute effort tonight. They will simply be watching the scoreboard to see what the Panthers / Thrashers do. If they are lucky they will have the right to get destroyed by the Bruins in the playoffs. Habsfan
I will not be watching the game tonight. Over the years, I have come to believe that I am the angel of death and bad luck for the Habs. Again tuesday night IT happenned. I missed the first period and the Habs were OK(tied 1-1) i started to watch the game in the 2nd period, and our boys lost the game in the third. Most times I watch, the Habs lose, whenever i miss the game, our boys usually play well. SO i will sacrifice myself, and I will not watch tonight's game in the hopes that our boys play their best game of the year and finally clinch a playoff spot! I will pray to the hockey gods and hope that Big george and Stewart are playing. I will also pray that Guillaume uses his shoulders ALOT tonight, and last but not least, I will pray that my boy finds his mojo back. Komisarek hasn't been 1/2 the player he was last year, and I blame it all on Lucic. True Komisarek is probably still playing with some kind of shoulder/upper body injury, and that he's been struggling lately, but too many people expect too much out of him. I the best of situations, Komisarek is a #3 d-man. Not a #1 like they've been using him the past two games. We all know that Komisarek can be an effective stay at home shut down d-man who can crush his opponents into the boards. But we can't realistically expect him to start producing points and offense when that was NEVER part of his bag of tricks. So like i was saying, i will pray that Komisarek drops the gloves against the Lucic and breaks that bastards nose in the process...it will help his confidence!! I recommend a few of you pray as well!!

I too think they will be thumped. But I think that'll be because they're missing their #2 C, #1 defenceman and MVP, and #1 PP specialist, not the reasons you cite. As for my promoting violence - how quaint. Our team is intimidated by Lucic (who's shown he won't go near Laraque) and the Burins' general physicality. Laraque's JOB is to the correct that. I say he should do it whether or not Lucic gives him a permission slip (if it can be done by crushing bodychecks, hey great).
