Ward gave Cullen two shots to the face and Walker just protected his teammate. Ward had plenty of time to react and for some inexplicable reason just let Walker pop him in the face. Personally, I don't see it as a sucker punch when he watched Walker throw his gloves down and wind up for the punch. Plus, if you're gonna be taking shots at someone late in a 4-0 game, you gotta be ready to drop the gloves. I don't understand the Hurricanes hate. Is it because of the 2006 playoffs? And the 2002 playoffs. Personally, I don't see any reason to hold a grudge against teams that beat us, unless it's Boston or Toronto. The Bruins are bullies. They crash the net, they scrum everywhere, but they are too chicken to fight cuz Julien said not to fight. I love what Walker did. It reminds me of the nice kid in school who stands up for himself and pops the bully in the face. Plus, what's with all these stupid scrums now? It goes too far. Every whistle and there's a scrum. Maybe if more guys got punched in the face in those scrums, they wouldn't want to do it. I have pure hatred for the Bruins again. It's a warm feeling and I like it. I haven't had that hatred of them for a few years. I am so happy tht they were let down. I am ecstatic that their fans are sad today. It makes me very happy. And regardless of the actual event and if it was bad enough to warrant a suspension, the simple matter of the rulebook should have won out. Walker got an instigator penalty in the last 5 minutes of a game. That is an automatic 1 game suspension. I don't even understand how that was up for debate. Quote
