I won't be watching the game but I think it will be a good one. With Markov back, we might actually play an exciting game for once. (Also helps that we're playing the Isles.)

Reports suggest Laraque is a no-go tonight meaning that...

a) Hamrlik will play and the Habs will dress 8 defencemen

b) Gionta will play out of nowhere (Apparently Wednesday is the target for his return)

c) Someone's going to get called up, but boy are they taking their time figuring out who (could be Pouliot I suppose...)

d) They're going with 17 skaters

If they can continue where they left off last game, I think this team is ready for a breakout, especially with Markov back (it's as much a psychological boost for everyone else, as what he can actually contribute his first game back). 6:2 Habs, Cammalleri and Kostitsyn with two apiece, Markov with two assists to get his season going again.

The Habs picture in the first post isn't showing up for me... which I suppose makes it fitting?

Should work now.

Also, the site that was reporting that Laraque won't play has retracted their story, looks like he's in after all. Oh well.

good morning! so we are ahead scored the first goal, un-fuggin'-believable -- give Markov the "C"! Looks like we got outshot pretty bad though. First period recap anyone?

Habs dont mount much offense (1, maybe 2 good scoring chances), they let the opposition control the puck on the perimeter and concede the long shots. Sutton hit Plex in the face, Laraque goes after Sutton but Sutton runs away... #1 line has the best chances, Pacioretty a couple of nice plays but they dont lead to any goals... pretty much the same as usual.
