Neech
It's WAY too late to go after Reimer. Let our crappy goalie tandem get us a decent pick. It's too late to buy.

Machine of Loving Grace
http://espn.go.com/nhl/story/_/id/14802142/montreal-canadiens-trading-immediate-pain-future-growth "Sources suggest a few teams have shown interest in defenseman Alexei Emelin, who has two more years on his contract at a $4.1-million cap hit. But the hard-hitting Russian has a full no-move, so unless his camp approaches Habs management and asks for a move, I can't see how he goes anywhere." Machine of Loving Grace
@NicholsOnHockey Dreger: Couple of teams say Eller "has been available for quite some time now." Not suggesting Bergevin is shopping or pushing out. #Habs
dlbalr
That's not a shocking revelation. I seem to recall in one of Friedman's columns that Eller has been on again/off again in terms of availability over the last couple of years. Neech
What's the most we could get back at the deadline? A 2nd? Don't see teams paying too much for our players.
DON
If can get a 2nd and 3rd, would be super, two 2nds is best case scenario I would guess. Not sure what a Markov might bring...if he was dealt to a contender. Obviously an expiring contract and maybe a 2nd pick? Eller maybe a 2nd also? I think Eller fits more into a player-player swap than a player-pick type of move. His cap hit I think is too high for teams to comfortably absorb outright for someone who slots best as a 3rd line centre. They'll want to offset some of that money. It may not be worth it to deal Eller, as we'd probably get someone similarly mediocre or worse.
Trizzak
Both Friedman and Lebrun have been saying they THINK that Bergevin already decided to sell awhile ago, but is waiting for the deadline. And Lebrun is saying they want to re-sign Byron, but every other UFA is available.
Commandant
Well if the rumors are true that the Rangers bid on Byron, we can't trade him without offering him to the Rangers first. He also might be worth it at a 1 million salary or so.
Trizzak
I'm shocked they don't want to re-sign Weise, though maybe they tried and were told he was testing the market.
KoRP
I'll be ok seeing Weise go, guy forgot he is supposed to hit, and always tries the cute chip passes etc, like a skilled guy, which he isn't. If he was the same player we got in the first place he would be a keeper, but now he sees his role differently, and I see his role elsewhere. Byron has got some kinda speed, so not a bad signing considering he is a weapon on the PK.
hab29RETIRED
That's because our damn useless coach sees him as a PP specialist and top 6 forward. He also might be worth it at a 1 million salary or so. Byron is basically what Weise was when we acquired him. We can keep him at a cheap price and he can contribute to the bottom six. We had seven SHG last year. We've had eight so far and Byron was involved with five of them (three goals, two assists). That's an asset we should keep. DON
Would prefer to keep both, but if they deal one, hope it is Weise.
DON
Louie Jean noted one teams executive said Subban's name "has come up", as far as being on the market. Maybe would be good if he was traded, at least it would be a blockbuster trade many seem to be always asking for.

I'm 99% sure teams are calling Bergevin and not the other way around. If I'm wrong, and Geoff Molson lets me be wrong, welcome to the return of 1995-96. Guest Stogey24
Molson would have to be an idiot to let a trade happen with the most marketable player in the game(among many other things).

Yeah, of course, if Isles GM calls, Bergevin may ask if he'd want to get Subban in exchange for Tavares, Leddy and a pick. Why not ?

Unless Conner mcdavid is the player coming back we would be idiots for making that move. It would be the Roy trade all over again.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I've said this before. If the Habs trade Subban, I will seriously reconsider my fandom. I lived through this with Roy; never again. The return would have to be undeniably spectacular.
Commandant
Subban, Therrien, not going anywhere http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/insider-trading-subban-therrien-not-going-anywhere~811891 Sounds more like teams have called about Subban and MB was like No. As for Therrien, sounds like status quo... he's got the job til April 15th or so. Lovett's Magnatones
Who has nine million in cap space? The players coming back for Subban would have to be guys like Toews, Malkin, Kane, Weber. Bergevin doesn't have the balls to trade first founders or high level prospects, no way he trades Subban.
