I would take Danault.  2 years left at 5 mill per isnt terrible and his advanced stats continue to be quite good.  Lack of production this year for the first time since leaving, but the underlying numbers suggest hes snakebit rather than regression.

Why is Laine signing off on that when he's due back around the Olympics?  Plus, the whole point of giving up a draft pick to move Price this summer was to try to avoid finishing the season in LTIR and carrying over the bonus penalty.

Danault is not dressing tonight and Renaud Lavoie expects a trade (not necessarily to Montreal) is imminent ... won't be just picks or prospects but rather centred around an NHL-ready player

It's hard to believe that Monty has fallen so far so fast but goalie's are so unpredictable. With another year at 3.1Million would he get claimed if put on waivers?  Fowler does look good but it seems a little early to anoint him as the new #1. Always easy to get excited about the shiny new toy.

That one tweet is a little over the top - if he clears, he'd be a true team player by going to Laval.  Well, if he wants to be paid, he has to go play there.  Is that really being a team player or simply protecting his wallet?

 

I wouldn't necessarily dismiss this outright.  Probably wouldn't be a trade but if they're committed to Fowler/Dobes right now, they might try to sneak him through waivers while he's struggling.  And if memory serves, they did this with Primeau last year at the exact same time.

I know its the rumour thread but there is still a massive credibility gap between something from a Lebrun or Friedman or other respected insider and a guy like Insiderrrrrrr who is the lowest of the low in my book.
