Preds get BURNED.......on the 5 min PP with under a minute left.

I was saying to my buddy why didn't they just pull the puck back out to center (so the goalie couldn't come out) and pass it around to kill off the game..................they did try to pass it around in the Hawks zone with Towens poaching and it cost them.

On the upside they still have a 4 min PP heading to OT..

Definitely a better performance tonight.

Samuelsson is a beast and Demitra's back!

Samuelsson wasnt "good enough" for the swedish olympic team for some weird reason.. WE NEED CHANGES IN SWEDISH HOCKEY and Im not talking about the players.

Well it looks as if we'll have our first game 7 of the playoffs as long as things dont change drastically in Detroit. Coyotes up 5-1 and looks as if they tie the series up 3-3.

Hope we have our second soon as well.

I am not the least bit surprised to see this series go to Game 7. Of all the series in the first round, this one (to me at least) looked like the most even one.

Great game by the Prairie Dogs today.

So if Montreal advances, they'd play either Pittsburgh or Buffalo. Hmm...
Nope, the evolution of the tree has to work this way. Using the east as an example the Caps are in 1st and Montreal in 8th. Because the Caps are in 1st they (at the moment) retain the bracket at the top of the chart. Buffalo holds number 2 presently whereas NJ is gone. So, Caps (1), Buffalo (3), Pittsburgh (4) and Philadelphia (7) determine the slots one through 4 at this time. If Buffalo loses then Pittsburgh automatically moves into the bracket number 2 under Washington.

If Montreal wins they would be inserted into the bottom bracket due to being 8th and would lead to a Pens-Habs matchup. If Boston wins (6) they would face Philly (7).

They re-seed after each round, BTH has it right. If we win and Buffalo wins, we get Buffalo. If we win and Boston wins, we get Pittsburgh. (Buffalo 1, Pittsburgh 2, Philly 3, Montreal 4 or Pittsburgh 1, Boston 2, Philly 3, Montreal 4)

As for the bolded part, shouldn't Boston be seed 4 the way you have it (especially since they're winning)?

Buffalo earned the 3rd spot so that's where I keep them until the B's officially eliminate them. It's true they moved to the 2nd bracket down but the number 2 Devils are gone.

Something interesting to note - we could have a situation where one conference is the exact inverse of the other. If Detroit and Montreal win their respective game sevens, we'd have this:

East: Seeds 4, 6, 7, 8 in, 1, 2, 3, 5 out

West: Seeds 1, 2, 3, 5 in, 4, 6, 7, 8 out

Not sure if that's ever happened before or not...perhaps "History will be made" here.
