Yes, it's been that long I'd guess Potvin ('89 or '90 I think), but it's not that much of an anomoly. Until Price or Halak become a true starter, we have gone since 1994 since drafting a "true starter", though we picked two up that year (Theodore & Vokoun). We came close with Garon in '96, but after that it goes to Halak in '03 and Price in '05. Before Theodore & Vokoun it was Roy in '84, meaning it was 10 years in between drafting a starting goalie. And if you're going to say that Potvin wasn't a true #1, then, well, I guess Theodore wasn't one either.

saskhab
Yeah, I was thinking Felix. isn't it sad. I think I'm going to cry Hey, but they'll still have drafted Rask. I can't wait until Boston trades Rask to St. Louis, though.

johnnyhasbeen
Ah, yes, forgot about that one. I'm surprised JFJ has managed to hang onto his job for as long as he has actually. I guess it all works into the fact the owners don't care about having a winning team though. ....and the fact that nobody is standing in line to take over a no win situation. Hard on the resume. Hard on the resume. hearing people like mackenzie and maguire, Toronto doesn't look like the best employer for a GM. heck I'd even chose the islanders before hand. He does all of this on purpose! :hlogo: Was Dryden a Habs spy as well? Heck, wasn't it the Dryden/Quinn split that made the Leafs go on their GM search that led to JFJ getting hired? Maybe Dryden was like... "I've done my job! Time to run for Parliament!"

Yes, it's been that long i would have thought Pogge would be getting more starts. He is the Leafs' future starter after all... or until they trade him for Theodore, etc... Athlétique.Canadien
The only good job in leef land or at the ACC is being the full body massous for the cheerleaders
BTH
Rask played an awesome game. He let in a softie (a monstrous slapshot from Sundin from just inside the blueline) but made a lot of great saves and is living up to his hype just as well as Price is. I really like this guy, I wonder what'll happen to Hannu Toivonen. Boston's goaltending depth is strikingly similar to ours.
Peter Puck
I wonder how many games this year the leafs have played against the backup. I bet its close to 50%.
