bar
I am not a big fan of Pleky at the point on the first PP, I thought Subban is more composed with the puck there, his shot needs some work but holding on the puck and passing it around he is a stud. brobin
I agree. I don't see any significant improvement, and frankly, Pleks is more dangerous down low. dlbalr
I am not a big fanof sitting White I had read a stat earlier today that said the Habs are 14 games above .500 with Pyatt in the lineup and 3 games below without him. That's a sign that suggests the Habs may want to keep him in the lineup most of the time. White was decent last game (for the first time in a while) but isn't doing anything that says he must be kept in. As the Habs are doing with the D right now, expect a platoon between White/Pyatt, putting White in for the most physical teams and Pyatt otherwise. They have extra guys and they want to keep them fresh. They don't want to leave guys sitting, like they have since the beginning of time, and wonder why when they finally get in they don't play so well. They will need everyone and then some if they are in playoffs for any length of time.
The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Strange to say, I have dodgy feeling about this one. Florida looks TOO dismantled post-deadline. I'll bet they come out feeling weirdly liberated and re-committed, while the Habs are probably struggling to stay awake during the pre-game warmup against this nonentity of an opponent. Redefined opponent + uninterested Habs = potential blown points. Hopefully this is just paranoia on my part. brobin
I am sorry, but I don't really buy that. He is on fire because he is playing hard. I have watched him go into slumps playing with Pleks as well. Can we go a game without bashing gomez. AK46 flying since leaving the SS Gomez sinking ship line.

dlbalr
Well, a 3-0 lead is nice to have, though as usual, I can't stay awake watching these teams play. Pouliot's penalty at the end of the 2nd was really dumb, that may have him riding the pine in the 3rd.

We had a link in our "Around the Web" section a couple days ago about the performance of various wingers when they played with either Gomez or Plekanec. Interesting stuff. In short, most everyone is worse off playing with Gomez. Here is the article : http://habsloyalist.blogspot.com/2011/02/gomez-effect.html Personally, until I see some consistent effort and smart plays from Gomez, I will stay on the bashing train, thank you very much. While he wasn't an offensive force last year either, I recall Gomez being quite good defensively and being a big part of the penalty kill. This year, I find I have nothing to hang my hat on. Thank goodness we are wrapping the week up with a Tampa Bay contest, which should be an entertaining affair. The Atlanta and Florida games are doing very little to combat my cold-medicine induced drowsiness.
brobin
My point is I don't need the exact same comment about Gomez and AK in every game thread. We all know Gomez is struggling, but AK struggles all on his own as well. He is hot and cold and has been since the day he arrived in Montreal. Habsfan84
The Habs played well in this one. I like this little run that were on. This will go along way to solidifying our playoff hopes. Lets hope it continues. To me it seems, that if Kostitsyn is hot the Habs also seem to be hot.

All three players seem to enjoy playing with each other. Added bonus, they produce! It was to see our boys win a game at the Bell Centre last night! Oups, They were in Florida! With the number of HabsFans in attendance, you would have thought this game was played in Montreal. IN any case, not only did our boys get the Shutout, they played well for an entire 60 minutes! Let's hope they can play as well against a tougher opponent(Tampa)!
