The first musical selection for this game I can't understand a single word of, but I like it. This is a special GDT so I think it requires three musical selections. The 2nd and 3rd songs sort of fit with the playoff stretch. <br />

They should scratch Pouliot and replace him with Weber.

Looks like Halpern is in for Pouliot

My gut reaction is to say that if they lose tonight they are finished, but this team plays well every time the media/fanbase buries them.

They will win tonight.

What if I told you I was in Australia and it is 2:41 AM on Thursday right now? Not so right now, are you!

I guess you got me there. Didn't anticipate you being on the other side of the world.

Montreal got away with a boat load of penaties last game. I counted 4 or 5 blatant ones. If they play like that, they will be in penalty trouble for sure. It's nice to see Halpern back. Not so nice to see him at wing, but even if they can use him for defensive zone face offs, then get him off, it will be a big help.

The thing is though, I've got a sinking feeling they won't. You may remember the stretch about a month ago (actually, less than) where I had the unofficial Halpern faceoff tracker in my 3 Star pieces since he was hardly taking any faceoffs. In 11 games in March, he took a grand total of 27 faceoffs (16 wins), or just under 2.5 per game. To me, that suggests Martin shockingly doesn't want to use him in those situations. Heck, I wouldn't put it past them to run Halpern, a natural right-shot C, on the LW to keep Desharnais at C. It doesn't make much sense, but given how he was used in March (he didn't play in April), I suspect he won't be getting too many faceoffs again now.

Well look at the bright side of that line, there's a good backup faceoff man on that line now. Maybe it's to try to get Desharnais to be a little more aggressive on the faceoff, if he gets kicked out Halpern is there to take the draw. Speaking of faceoffs, I was under the impression the away player had to put their stick down before the home player. Last game the Bruins players weren't even putting their sticks down at all, and the linesmen let them get away with it.

@BCHabnut, Montreal did get away with a few penalties, but Boston got away with alot as well. I don't mind the refs striking marginal penalties when they missed a call for the other team. My problem is the double standards, where it's ok for one team to do it and not the other, like game 2 where Wizneiski got 2 for hitting from behind, and a minute later Horton does the exact same thing to Subban and there's no call.

I'm pretty confident about the next game. Montreal nearly beat Boston last game, they just had about 10 bad minutes, a lucky goal and a near no-goal. If Price didn't misplay the puck on the 3rd goal, the way the Habs were coming on in the 3rd, I feel as if they would have won that game. The Habs realize this as well. They really need to work on their power play. One power play goal last game would of changed everything, like game 2. They need to cycle the puck low to open up the point, outnumber Boston down low instead of having a man open for the pass that never comes and have the strong side defenceman pinching a little for support.

One other thing I saw they could go back to, and it would kill Boston, is on the rush instead of the other forward rushing down the middle of the ice, take the other wing. They got 2 goals from these big rebounds Thomas has been giving up on the rush in game 2. Game 3 for whatever reason they were coming down the middle and weren't in position for the rebound.

they have thomas's number he gives up big rebounds shoot at him he kicks it to our guy sounds good to me. Besides Glen Healy (that all star goalie  ) sez he never went to goalie school so what is the problem?

1clap.gif Right on. Allows our guy to "cheat" on faceoffs.

The only thing with this GDT thing is the Gomez number thing.

Haha nice catch. Will fix his number.

It might just be me but the lines are showing as follows:

X X

X

X X

X

etc (each X representing a jersey)

I didn't want to dabble too much with your code for fear of screwing it up but perhaps the jerseys could be thinned?

This is gonna be a fun night. Some Vancouver friends are coming to visit so we'll have fun watching both games after the little ones are in bed.

I hope Montreal can come out hard and prove to themselves and Boston that the first two games were the norm, not a fluke.

I find it really unfortunate that this BS has to be going on with Pouliot right now. He is our only natural sniper outside the top 6. He is a scoring threat, even if he hasn't been scoring. I like the long-term outlook, but it sucks that now has to be a lesson learning moment for our project player. What I am really looking forward to is the reunification of the PHD line, if Patches can get back in the line up in the second round. But now I am getting ahead of things and don't want to get in trouble from my fellow posters :)

Guess we'll play at 3 lines tonight. Nothing against any of those players individually, I love them all. but I just don't see how those 3 together could work some chemistry to produce anything. Pouliot might be a liability, but he would have at least been the go-to guy to finish plays.
