Shouldnt be a surprise, should it?

He aint near NHL ready, if ever will be.

No, this one isn't a surprise.  He's having a pretty good season all things considered and he's probably better off staying in a top-six role over there a little longer.

Likely(?) this play

I take the poster's point ... but wouldn't mind knowing what built up to that point besides "falling on" the goaltender.

He's got a little bit of Arber in him. I like it.

If Mailloux could defend better and play smarter, more like a Guhle, i would like moreso and make him more useful in the NHL.

(Mailloux's last fight in the OHL left him out for a long time, after getting knocked out and injuring shoulder. Maybe throwing a tantrum and gooning it up isnt the best route for him to take.)

Davidson/Farrell 1a

Mailloux 1g2a before being tossed from game and likley suspended again.

Xhekaj adapted from his OHL gooning ways so I wouldn’t write Mailloux off quite yet because of this.

Not write-off, just be more projectable as a capable NHL d-man.

Engstrom they say has looked good at World juniors, seems to be working out well for 3rd round pick.

Things for him to work on, certainly.

But again, this latest incident had zero to do with actual between the whistle play.

Hope Ramage/Lapointe/etc tell him to give his head a shake and smarten up (which they likely imparted same message to Xhekaj).:spamafote:

Without getting into the incident its clear that Maillloux has the offensive skill to succeed.  However, his defensive game has a long way to go.

As I've said before, those offensive skills may warrant considering moving him up front if the defence doesn't flourish.

Will Mesar be traded?

Rangers kinda suck.

It's possible that he goes but restrictions on imports limits his market considerably though.  There's a decent chance he spends another year in the OHL so that might be enough for them to hold onto him.

Teams can only carry two import players on a roster.  Most contending teams already have two they like so Kitchener will be limited to suitors that have a lesser import among the two or are holding a spot open for an overseas guy that may or may not come over.  (Barrie is a team to watch for in that regard - if they don't get Eduard Sale who was at the World Juniors, they have an open import spot to fill and would likely inquire about Mesar.)

Teams can carry 3 but can only play 2 at a time.  The remparts had 3 a few years back and were rotating the healthy scratch til they were able to trade one of them.

Its rare but usually happens cause a team assumed their import was going to make the NHL and draft a new one to replace him (july draft) and then the kid gets sent back to junior leaving them with three.
