Non-Rocket Habs Prospect tracker

After three rather forgettable years at Minnesota-Duluth, prospect Jack Smith has entered the NCAA's transfer portal.  He was a fourth-round pick in 2020 and because he still hasn't completed his college eligibility, Montreal still technically holds his rights.

It wouldn't surprise me if Tyler Thorpe is signed to an ATO by Laval.  I don't think he'll play much there but he's eligible to play there full-time next season so they might as well get him working with the coaching staff and skating to better assess his readiness.

For those like me with a poor memory, big RW (6.04, 215), 5th round (130th) pick last June

I'd be very surprised if he's let out of his contract early.  Unless you mean pack your bags to report to a lower-level team in their organization; there was a report recently that said they'd send him down once the KHL team was eliminated.

Headed to the VHL (Russia's version of AHL) instead of the MHL (under 20 league, ie like the QMJHL).

[tomh009]

The SKA contract ends on 31 May, so Demidov could arrive in time to help the Habs take on the Jets in the Final. 😊

He signed an ELC and an ATO.

Well, I got it part right at least.  I'm a bit surprised he got the ELC right away, I thought they might want to evaluate him a bit at first and then decide.  Oh well, good for him.

That takes Rohrer off Laval's radar for a couple more weeks at least and at that point, will they just opt to keep him overseas to play a regular role for Austria at the Worlds?

WMU won in 2 OT so the season has come to an end for Harris.

Let's see how soon he arrives in Laval ...

If that is his plan?

As @dlbair said above the choice is Laval or Team Austria at the Worlds ... he (?) further speculated in another thread that it may depend on what role (i.e., icetime) the Habs/Rocket offer him in Laval.

We also assume he is making the decision independent of what the Habs would prefer he would do.

Most 21 year old late round draft picks are going to take the advice of the NHL team and do what the team thinks is best for their development.  Not everyone obviously, but most.
