dlbalr
Every so often, there's a site I go to for some TOI estimates for the CHL players. Here's the approximate ice time per game for each Hab junior prospect: QMJHL Daniel Audette: 27:30 (and that's not even first on his team) Jeremy Gregoire: 25:00 OHL Michael McCarron: 24:33 WHL Tim Bozon: 20:08 (5th among forwards) Brett Lernout: 24:02 (2nd on team) Nikita Scherbak: 24:33 It's interesting that Scherbak and McCarron seem to be getting near-identical ice time. I'm not surprised that Audette is really high but I was a tad surprised that Bozon's ice time is really more full-time second line. I thought he'd have a bigger role than that. Now these aren't perfect estimates but there's enough info to get a sense for what role each player is getting (which is why I look). Beyond Bozon, all are top line/top pairing guys. That's always a good thing.
DON
Interesting stuff Not sure what to make of Bozon? He has been though a lot in last year.
dlbalr
Fucale made his Remparts debut yesterday and posted a shutout...on 11 shots, only one of which was credited as a dangerous shot. That's more of the workload he's used to seeing after being on some really strong Halifax teams.
DON
Reway "only" 1a in a 7-1 win, was -1 in 15:48. Lehkonen has 1a in last 21 games, uggg! He had 11:45 today.
DON
Gregoire 1.00 points/game McCarron 1.48 Scherbak 1.43 Bozon 1.17 Audette 1.15 Reway 0.90 MacMillan 0.88 Evans 0.52 Lehkonen 0.40 Lernout got his 10th goal and 4 ppg of year, not real keen on his -8 but team not real strong. DON
Gregoire gets GWG today. Lehkonen didn't play today? scratched or injured?
dlbalr
MacMillan had a good game yesterday with two goals and an assist. That puts him back to a point-per-game pace. Scherbak snapped his season long point 'drought' with a goal and an assist. That ended the slump at two games.
DON
Yes MacMillan's game was on TSN, I saw his goals (combined both about 5 feet in total from net) and also nice assist. Another 2 way centre, not overly quick nor physical, but in right place at right time for goals, he was on 2nd PP unit and 1st PK centre and some nice passes, defense. (they were playing a weak team) Scherbak 3rd star of game. Lernout chips in 1a; both he & Bozon -
DON
Audette had a big game 2g 2a, as did Reway 2g 1a. McCarron 1a in 1-0 game
DON
Bozon with hat trick (17th goals now), GWG, 2PPGs and 1st star today. Scherbak gets 21st yesterday, now with 21g 57pts in 40 games. Lehkonen continues to sputter and no points again today.
DON
MacMillan gets his 12th goal, after 2 periods.
DON
Caught some of Scherbak's game. Game announcers spoke of him; as one of best/most exciting scorers in WHL. "Magic with the puck"; but "without the puck, he has a lot to work on" And the comment that came up several times that, " He can dominate one game and then seems to disappear the next"; but they also noted he had only be blanked 5 games all year (6 counting last night). He has hard wristshot and all he used, can really skate, maybe bit like Sekac & Galchenyuk. But in own end, he definitely dosent work particularly hard, nor noticeable on backcheck. But was playing vs a tough team in Kelowna. One Oil late pick on Rockets got his 39th goal in his 39th game. And these top teams play each other once again tonight. Lernout was only -2 in a 7-0 beatdown. And he squares off against Bozon tonight.
ICEWATER77
How about Bozon's hattrick against Tristan Jarry? not too shabby eh?
DON
Yes, but 2 were on the PP, so may not of mattered who was in net. Bigger surprise was none were assisted by Reinhart, as most of his goals are. Bozon had 10 shots in that game (Reinhart had 9).
ICEWATER77
They do say that the goalie has to be the best penalty killer, right? But yeah, they would carry more substance had they been scored at even strength. You're right
DON
Bozon picked up 1a yesterday. Fucale stops 2 of 3 in shootout and wins again; his Q record now- 129-43-14 Mark MacMillan has matched his NCAA high with his 13th goal, but in only 21st games and has 21points. Gregoire with 2nd star game 1g 2a for 14pts in 12 games Scherbak's team got smoked 9-3 by powerhouse Kelowna, but he picked up 2a and sitting at 59pts in 42games and right around 100points season pace. dlbalr
Fucale stops 2 of 3 in shootout and wins again; his Q record now- 129-43-14 For anyone wondering, the all-time wins record is 142. Quebec has 20 games left so Fucale is really going to need to go on a big run if he wants to get that record. That slow start to the season is really looking costly. By the way, yesterday's game was part of the QMJHL's first ever outdoor set of games.
DON
Gregoire 1g 1a in the 1st period today. He is rolling along nicely.
DON
Holy moly 2g 3a for Gregoire today (and BC only got 6 goals!!!). What a weekend eh! Hope he is another nice late pick by Timmins (a la Gallagher).
DON
Bozon 2g 1a 3rd star game, for 7points in last 3 games.
DON
Big Mike gets 26th for Oshawa, a GWG and still producing 1.32ppg. Reway 1a Who was the last Hab CHL prospect to win player of week, before Gregoire?
dlbalr
Who was the last Hab CHL prospect to win player of week, before Gregoire? Someone has won it fairly recently if memory serves. Who that is, I don't know.
DON
Galchenyuk?
dlbalr
Galchenyuk? That would make a lot of sense.
DON
Bozon has 1g 1a with bit left in 3rd. Poor Lehkonen 1a in last 25 games (6:54 and 9:33 icetime last 2 games), will/can he be relegated to a lower league?
