If I recall correctly, he also shouldn't have gone to the Olympics - was injured before and then shut down again after the Olympics.

No, he won the Hart Trophy the same year as the Olympics and beat Tampa and Boston in the playoffs.  Then he got hurt by Kreider and missed most of the Conference Final. He had a minor thing going into the Olympics, but he was fine in the tournament and came back healthy and still in MVP form.  Overall that 2013-14 season was his best in the NHL.

Considering the Olympics was February and the Kreider thing was May, wasn't much there.

then the next season started 10 games without a regulation loss,.. then he steppe on puck and got the 2 month injury that lasted the entire season.

I think that's everyone's greatest fear as we have become accustomed to the worst news possible regarding injuries.

Yes indeed. And that’s why I’m not presuming that the original diagnosis is wrong. We were all scarred by what happened to Price - including the constant dance of ‘he’ll be back soon, oh wait, no he won’t.’ I think most fan bases, told that Laine will be out for three months, would accept that as good news rather than presume it’s incorrect.

Ok. Thanks. I seem to recall there were some writers questioning why Price was going to the Olympics if he missed some regular season games before the tournament. Forgot it was the same year as the Kreider cheap shot.

Everyone forgets how incredible that 2016 team looked before Price went down. They were contenders the previous two seasons - that might have been The Year. But it all depended on #31.

And definitely won't play tomorrow

If he isn't OK for Boston, I suppose they call up somebody so they have a 7th D in case of illness/warmup injury.

It’s good that we don’t play till Saturday.

The team is pretty beat up 🤕

It's also good for my mood. Don't have to watch them lose. Team is a defensive tire fire

Condetta called up, Anderson took shot in foot in 3rd period and may not dress.

Montreal Canadiens recall Lucas Condotta from Laval Rocket

Condotta just played two games in two nights for Laval versus the Utica Comets. Through six AHL games this year, he has three assists. He has four games of NHL experience over the past two seasons, scoring his first NHL goal in his debut in 2022-23.

So the Habs are going to play this kid three games in three days?

I think going into Philly they wanted a more physical presence so I think that's why they called up Condotta over Roy.

Does Condotta kill penalties?  That might be a consideration as well.

Needed a body, in case.

Not many healthy scratches left and a bottom six guy, which Roy isnt.
