Prime Minister Koivu Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Much more intense work here by Newhook - lots of edge work He will be back soon and he was having a great season. Where does he play? Quote

But, as we have seen just this month with Guhle and Dach, it takes some time to get the rust off, so I don't have super high expectations of an immediate impact. Quote

Personally I would look to bundle him in a deal ... he is a bottom 6 player at best and, IMO, he doesn't bring what the Habs need in the bottom 6 Quote

Team does need grit and size…if only we had a player like Sammy Blais 🤷♂️ Quote

IDEALLY ... but I was responding in the context of a Newhook / Texier / Veleno / Blais discussion ... and being practical. There is also some hope from recent games that Dach could fill the first-line hole ... perhaps not as gritty as one would hope but good enough barring a trade for Tom Wilson, or his younger equivalent (if there is one). He's big enough (220 lbs I think) and willing to hit, even if not Wilson-level nastiness. And he's battling on the boards and getting the puck to Suzuki and Caufield. Ideally ... Dach is the solution. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Quote
GHT120 Posted February 16 Posted February 16 For whatever it might be worth, a clickbait site posts that Newhook not doing well ... practicing by himself ... grimacing a lot ... taking a lot of breaks Quote
GHT120 Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Laine used on defence for the last couple of drills I'm guessing he isn't dressing Thursday 2 Quote
