Not that it means much considering he injured his hand but Dobson resumed skating today and is said to be day to day.

I suppose that if he were getting surgery on his hand he likely wouldn’t be skating.

Rumours suggest that he had surgery the day after the incident

Who knows if true

At this point, I don’t think it’s true.

The issue (obviously) will be the strength in Dobson's hand ... do they play him if he can only minimally handle the puck and he is dressing mostly for a defensive role ... it would not only risk re-injury but also dangerous turnovers if Dobson reflexively tries to make a play with the puck that his hand doesn't allow him to execute ... the re-injury risks depends entirely on what the original injury was ... it could be anything from re-aggravating a strain to tearing a ligament/tendon.

Sure, yes. But at this point I have confidence in the Habs' medical staff--and we know that Hughes has his focus on long-term contention, not this year's playoffs, so he is unlikely to push for an early return if it is risky.

No shots on net in a casual skate speaks volumes.

Yeah, I just saw video of him taking some wrist shots & snap shots. I think he’s back somewhat soon, depending on the score of our series.

With a maximum of three games left in the series, that seems pretty unlikely.

Next round, assuming we get past Tampa.

Players with hand/wrist injuries have a history of coming back early, not necessarily effectively but early

Maybe yes, but as he has not joined regular practice yet, it seems unlikely that he would be playing by Sinday.

Dobson took part in the optional skate today wearing a modified glove.

Doesn't offer me confidence that he can handle a puck

Looks like he’s in tomorrow as predicted. We’ll see come game time though.

I expect this thread gets pretty busy over the next couple days. Dobson was obviously not 100%, Slaf was hurt since that hit in round 1, Ghule obviously. How many others?

Suzuki - thigh

Slafkovsky - shoulder and leg

Dobson - couldn't close his hand (THAT we knew)
Hutson - shoulder.

Dach wasn't fully recovered from his late-season injury, that one I know for sure.  I don't think Texier ever got back to 100% from his midseason injury either but that one is more speculation.  Guhle's an obvious one and I think Caufield had something as well.  Wouldn't be shocked if there are more.
