<td width="33%" align="center" height="34">Tonight marks the 1,000th game in

Predators history. Interestingly enough, it's been the same coach and

GM for that entire time. The last time the Habs played in Nashville,

the Preds set a franchise record with 55 shots on net...and thankfully I was

at an OHL game that night so I have little recollection of it. The Hab lines are a straight guess with the various changes from this afternoon as are Nashville's with the uncertainty surrounding Legwand and Spaling.</td>

Word is that Weber (Yannick that is) will be back on D and Emelin will be sitting.

I'm not a huge fan of the lines, at least on paper. As much as Patches and Cole can do a lot of damage playing on DD's wings, I'd like to see those two split across the top two lines to spread out the offense.

No offense to Travis Moen, but I don't understand why he keeps making his way into the top-6!

Question of the day: Would you trade Weber and Kostitsyn for Weber and Kostitsyn?

:-)

Normally I would agreee with you on Moen, but with the injuries at this time, he is putting the biscuit in the basket, so you can't call him out too much.

VERY true! I still can't believe that he has five goals on the year and is tied for second (in that category) on the team. Craziness. Still, I'd like to see Patches or Cole on the top line just to spread out to offense.

I'm also thinking that Gomez won't stay on the fourth line for long...

It should be interesting...amazing how the injury bug is once again taking this team down.

I have been a fan of Weber's play on D this season and wish they would leave him there. I would like to see a lineup where Diaz sits and Emelin plays just to see what that looks like. Especially against bigger grittier teams. I am also on the Eller in DDs spot bandwagon. Eller has looked like a top centerman so far and should be rewarded. I think Gomez between DD and Palushaj would be interesting. A healthy Habs team would be nice to get a run going and get back in the Top 8. Go Habs Go!!

Good stuff Hirky!

I agree with you re: Weber. I like what we've seen from him so far this season and despise seeing him as a 4th line winger. I've liked what I've seen from Diaz too, although he tends to have a lot of unforced errors in his own end.

As for Emelin, Montreal has to get him playing more, imo. The only way he'll adjust is with more ice time. That said, I truly believe they will give that experiment a better shot once Markov is back. If the Habs are smart, they'll make Markov-Emelin a top pairing in order to insulate Emelin.

Ultimately, the Habs have a glut of defenseman ready to play so, in all honesty, I can see them making a trade at some point over the season.

That, of course, depends on injury!

Gomez will be on every power play and will finish the 1st period on one of the top three lines. Whatever the likes of Bertrand Raymond might say (what does he know?), Gomez is still the best centerman in this team to enter the puck in the zone. Even though I like the youngsters, I must admit that Desharnais (and Eller) might have to play on the wing once Gomez will be 100% healthy. Desharnais, in particular, is a disappointement this season. Let's face it, he loses more than his share of face-offs, has a lot of problem winning man on man battles along the boards, doesn't shoot (does he have Gomez disease?) and doesn't pass well either. Obviously, Martin has decided to be patient and I give him a lot of credit for that. The problem is that we have to win. If some guys don't begin to produce soon, it doesn't take a genius to predict that their icetime will be reduced accordingly.

Let's hope that we are about to witness some offensive power. Our goalies really need it.

Now official, Blunden sent down as I reported earlier this afternoon in the rumour thread; the HW capsheet has been updated to reflect this. Either Cammalleri is good to go or Weber will play forward again meaning Emelin would stay in the lineup after all.

I just read somewhere that DD was 72% in The Coyotes game, and hasn't been below 52% in 7 games. I suspect his faceoffs are the only thing keeping him at Centre right now.

He was 72% against Phoenix but was only 25% vs the Sens last Friday. He sits at just under 48% on the season which sadly is better than Eller.

Not sure why price isn't in. It's not like we have back to back games right now.

We also have enough of our top guys out right now - is this really a time to be giving Price the night off???

He's 6-5 with a 2.44 GAA and .920 SV% lifetime against the Preds. Pretty good numbers to play a hunch, especially when you need to get him in sometime. I personally think it's a no-brainer to start Budaj, especially since he has in the past played well against them.

We've got to keep Eller playing center. Eller is amazing!

Yes I'm about to say it... it is very nice to have Gomez back in the lineup!

GO HABS GO!

Agreed...and he is not so good on the wing. Plus, he is the ONLY big center the Habs have...him and AK46 make beautiful music together!

Big kudos to Trotz. Great coach. Kudos to the organization for keeping the faith. Particularly since there were times when they just couldn't compete because for financial reasons.

Makes sense plus with HUGE games against Boston, Philly, the Rangers, Pens and others this month, this might be one of the few chances to rest Price.

well I hope it's the right decision, because Price has generally been the reason for most of our wins.
