Lovett's Magnatones
Want nothing to do with Jokinen. He is playoff cancer. Been in the playoffs only once or twice his career. Not interested a guy only concerned about the pay cheque and has been a loser his whole career. He's going to be a trivia question some day, I looked him up and he has almost 1200 GP and 6(!) playoff games.

The deal primarily is about saving money, not the player going the other way.

JoeLassister
As discussed with dlbalrog on gmail... Emelin for Perron? Perron is not a 1st line W. I say no. I don't trade any good asset for anything but a 1st line W.

DON
As discussed with dlbalrog on gmail... Emelin for Perron? Sure, sounds good to me, cept Emelin's no trade clause would unlikely be a big issue.
PMAC
Not a chance in hell Bergevin makes that deal. Perron is simply not good enough and Emelin is a much-needed physical defenseman in MTL. The Oilers are sinking it is a time to get value or potential for little risk. I could see MB trading a prospect and a pick for Perron or even Deharnais for Perron and a pick, but the latter would only happen if the decision was made play Galchenyuk at centre immediately and I don't see that happening. Lovett's Magnatones
I don't want David Perron. He's an off injured, streaky 40 pt a year player. Like PA Parenteau. They already have PA, no need for another player with a similar profile.

It slows down the transition game and doesn't give that line the power forward drive that it had when Cole and Max broke through the opposing blue line. He seems an upgrade on Briere, whether 1st 2nd or 3rd line. What could we get for Beaulieu? Not a lot eh?
PMAC
Doesn't matter where he plays, Parenteau, with a 5th, for Briere, was a steal
Guest Stogey24
Oh I agree, I'd take P.A over Briere any day. I just don't like him on the top line.
DON
Oh I agree, I'd take P.A over Briere any day. I just don't like him on the top line. PAP is 6th of forwards in icetime (and 6th in forward scoring), almost 7th, so don't think is a fixture on 1st line yet (like 51-67 are). Trizzak
Perron is not a 1st line W. I say no. I don't trade any good asset for anything but a 1st line W. We have considerable blue line depth... I consider any trade that forces Prust onto the 4th line to be significant. Even better, yes, if it forces Parenteau to the 3rd line... but regardless, I am a fan of it.
KoRP
I agree Trizzak, Prust should be on the 4th line, although he does have more points than Malhotra...Seems as though MT uses Prust as a defensive specialist these days, PK late in games etc. No way I trade Emelin for Perron, for reasons all mentioned earlier by others, oft injured, under achiever, and lose our only and very physical defenseman, no way. Perron has played past 2 full seasons and not hurt yet this year and given Habs (somewhat) depth on d, wouldn't removing Emelin open a spot for big #24 (which many wouldn't mind seeing or so has been said many times by many people, me included, over last 2 years)? KoRP
I like Tinordi too Don, but why remove Emelin? Playing outside the Eastern Conference, you might wanna add Tinordi to the lineup with Emelin...
PMAC
Absolutely, KoRP, the idea is to have both Emelin and Tinordi. Would be nice to have opposing players fear playing against our blueline
