Grassi was sent down yesterday after sitting as a scratch for a whack of games. I'm not sure why they kept him so long, McIver has been healthy for a bit and is a scratch.

Akim Aliu, who started the year in Hamilton, was released from his PTO with Hartford a couple of days ago as well. He's having a rough year so far.

Would like to argue a bit about forwards, but got nothing, seems bang on to me.

NHL players with few penalties, Kyle Weldwood, J Jagr, both soft non-checking players and I guess Holland likely will always be more a perimeter player, whom I thought would be a 45+point guy this year in Hamilton.

The weird thing with Holland is that he wasn't like that in junior. In his last WHL year, he had 48 PIMS which is a far cry from a total of 8 pro PIMS in 1.5 years.

I saw lots of him with Tri-city and he seemed a stand out almost every game; manning point on PP, key on the PK, set-up man, smart with puck and good defensively, but I don't recall him being aggressive nor taking puck hard to the net and likely his PIMs were due to simply playing so much?

Hopefully he can turn season around and start chipping in on offense.

Nygren speaks. Two things of note, he really, really hates Hamilton and is still calling it the most criminal city in Canada. The other, from what he says towards the end, it sounds like he has no desire of returning and almost seems to be hoping for a contract termination.

Commandant will not be pleased by his comments.

Well, another big shot PP specialist, that pretty much sucks defensively, Habs can easily do without him, but too bad just the same.

About his only chance was being a right handed shot. Even then he had Dietz, Ellis and Thrower ahead of him.

He can say what he wants about Hamilton. Just proof he has very little personal character. Not sure I like Copps becoming FirstOntario Centre. Why drop the Coliseum part?

I was hearing on CHML yesterday that somehow Victor Copps name will still be enshrined in some part of the arena name. The box office was renamed the First Ontario Credit Union box office early in the fall so we could see the writing on the wall. It gets to the point of overkill-power plays and penalty kills announced as sponsored by Pepsi; the Pizza Pizza press box in the Bill Stirrup gondola. Last year a local plumber had targets in the urinals! Somehow the abbreviation of the sponsor isn't going to work, as in " I'm going to the FOC U arena". Right now, think about how many of us still call the Rogers Centre "the Skydome".

Beaulieu sent to Hamilton and will play today?

Didn't think he could be demoted due to Olympic rules and such?

The trade freeze was Friday at 3. Teams had until 5 PM following their last game before the break (for most, today at 5) to demote players. Beaulieu, because he hasn't been up for 87 days and had not played 16 of Montreal's last 20 games, was eligible to be demoted and play immediately.

Magnus Nygren sets AHL record with 104.6 mph slap shot.

If only he could defend better than MAB, but I think he shoots and defends about the same and only Pearn would ever give Nygren a regular shift.
