habs rule
OK we should be very energised by last night, now let's keep it going and crush the senators. Keep the P/P working. Is Carey is net tonite? I thought he might have a day off after that hit he took last nite.
dlbalr
Is Carey is net tonite? I thought he might have a day off after that hit he took last nite. I don't know who's in net for either side yet. If the plan was to split the two goalies in these games, it might have made more sense to go with Tokarski yesterday for the non-rivalry, non-divisional game. That's why I'm guessing Price right now though that hit from yesterday may yet change things. Edit: Ottawa has announced Anderson's in. Habs30/31
i would think price sits tonight. Plays the first place islanders Sat. Toker against the Sens.
Habsfan84
Therrien confirmed that Tokarski gets the start tonight.
JoeLassister
Good call to sit Price tonight. Even if I own Price in my fantasy pool...
dlbalr
Three teams have scouts at tonight's game - Edmonton, Pittsburgh, and Vancouver.
xXx..CK..xXx
I can't lie, I hate the Senators for some reason. Okay, many reasons. I had a bunch of thoughts to talk about prior to tonight's contest, including the constant line juggling, but there's not enough time now before the game! I will say that I like the lines tonight more than last night but hopefully we can keep some lines together for a few games so they have time to build some chemistry for the future. Habs win 4-1 and Galchenyuk and Price are 2 of the 3 stars. Edit: I guess Price isn't in the net... I know most think it's a good call but I would have felt a lot more comfortable with Price in net vs the Sens despite the back to back. dlbalr
That was a rough first period. The Habs were flat early and the Sens are definitely on their game. Tokarski has made a lot of saves (18 in a period is pretty good) but his rebound control has been awful. From his time with Hamilton, that was often a sign that he was due for a rough game. Hopefully he can fix those issues quickly.
JoeLassister
Well... Tokarski is miles away from Price in terms of rebound control.
dlbalr
One big surprise in that first period... Coming into tonight, the #Habs were tied for 1st in faceoffs while Ottawa was 28th. So naturally, the Sens won 17/22 faceoffs in the first.— HabsWorld.net (@habsworld_net) January 16, 2015
Chris
They were totally unprepared in the first, whether they were tired or didn't bother to show up you can't give up 20 shots to a bottom feeder in a period. I'm not even sure I saw a body check from a hab player. The good news only down by 1 I guess.
dlbalr
Pacioretty's goal gives him a 6-game goal streak, the longest in the NHL this year.

DON
Galchenyuk took a good hit, getting a bit too fancy with head down.
Habs30/31
Markov had no choice on that trip. He was given a brainless pass. Nate was robbed. Cant buy his first goal, while playing very, very well Galchenyuk took a good hit, getting a bit too fancy with head down. he got gonged ! Guest Stogey24
Parenteau hasn't done much this year. Not happy with his play. Too many guys who don't produce
dlbalr
That was a much better period but they didn't get the bounces. The first couple of powerplays showed some good jump at least.
Habs30/31
Yea good huslte and out shot the sens. Got atleast a little more physical. Would like to see Larry, Sekac, Prust keep up this level of play. DD and parenteau night off so far. would not be a bad idea if gilbert took a cab to the airport at the intermission and retired. BCHabnut
Gilbert has been a total disapointment this year. Emelin too. Jiri deserves a goal the way he is playing tonight.
habs rule
Well it is time for the come back kids to show up. Powerplay looked better than it has other than last night. Lets feed these guys some rubber.
