If I had to pick one, I would pick McGuire. I think he has a greater chance of acting like an actual GM instead of turning the Habs into a complete gong-show. That said, in managerial terms, that's a choice between Clown 1 and Clown 2...God forbid either of them takes the helm.

Same here.

I think McGuire would be a good option to replace Timmins and have him in charge of the scouting staff and development program.

I think Roy might have the swagger to swing an Anglo coach

Worth it?

He'd either hire Andre Tourigny or himself as head coach.  Neither are desirable options.

Nice play on the board by Toffoli, leading to the 2 on 0 by Caufield and Suzuki for the win

three additions credited to MB

needle nudged back to keeping him

Plus Kotkaniemi in the draft and Armia stolen from Winnipeg.

Its 9 years.  Carey Price and Brendan Gallagher are basically the only players he didnt acquire.

I didn’t think about or the ghosts of Alzners past would have crept up my memory

We need one or two more Pacioretty type trades. Suzuki is a keeper, his passing skills and Caulfield's shooting skills could be a great combination for years to come. They need a big bruising winger to complete them, one that can skate.

Well, Anderson is the prototypical winger you just described. Too bad they’re both RW! And such power wingers don’t grow on trees.

Anyway, there is a long history of *pairings* mattering more than lines per se. I can easily imagine Suzuki-Caufield eventually anchoring the first line with a rotating cast of LW

They certainly don't grow on trees, I was thinking about Anderson but as you say he is also a RW.

Just FYI: Eric Crawford is director of scouting, Timmins is an AGM.

Assume Timmins maybe still 'in charge' of that though, but what do i know?

Is blowhard Macguire better than Crawford?

I’d like to see Anderson with KK long term.

That was my prefernce

at the beginning of the year:
Kotkaniemi-Anderson

Suzuki-Toffoli

with current available wingers that would be:

Toffoli-Suzuki-Caufield

Armia-Kotkaniemi-Anderson

That works for now.

Next year if Drouin is back, he can push Armia down (assuming Armia returns).

I would push Toffoli “up” to Danault’s line if Tatar walks

HealthyDrouin-Suzuki-Caufield would be bettter

Seems like MB’s team is proving critics wrong with the way he has constructed this team. Not perfect, far from it: but strong on character and playing for each other

one more game to go to see if he survives or not

I don’t know. A coach that only trust 4 of his D men isn’t a well constructed team.

the Habs have won 3 games either in spite of their GM or in spite of their coach … but not both.

He isn;t proving anything

2 goals or less in all 6 games, 2 OT winners to get them to 3,

If it wasn;t for Price, he would have been canned years ago.

Everyone still needs the boot when the season is over

Shoot, my bad, i thought it was 3-2 again

Either way that was only the 11th time in Price's playoff career they scored 3 or more, absolutely pathetic.

Maybe 12 0r 13 depending on how OT is counted
