I agree that it is a risk, but a minimal one.

If you fire Therrien, you also trade several NHLers and replace them with rookies or plugs. AND you shut Carey down.

No way we go 15-5 with or without interim.

The interim coach doesn't have to go 15-5 though, that was just an example. All he needs is one of those rookies or plugs to get hot, the team to look decent, and we'll never hear the end of it. Could happen in a small sample size.

All of the sudden you get a Martin Gerber and Boyd Devereaux come up with a couple huge games as they play their hearts out to get new contracts and then what.

The easy solution for Bergevin, after trade deadline, would be to pull a Gainey and take over the interim himself assisted by Daigneault and other assistant coaches that could work the lineup and the practices.

Between this and potential media disasters à la Patrick Roy, I choose Bergevin's intermim even if he has zero experience behind a bench.

I feel what your sayin man, but if Therrien was going to get fired, it would have happened already

So yeah, Lefebvre... one of the two people available now to take this job.

Here is the problem with an interim. Therrien is dead man walking.

You hire an interim and he goes 15-5 down the stretch and you barely miss the playoffs, now there is a ton of pressure to keep a guy who isn't the solution (Lefebvre) and you've ######ed up the draft position. Why bother?

If you have watched our AHL team under Lefebvre it is safe to say we would more likely go 5-15 with him as intern.

That man has been a useless waste of space and a talent killer.

Talent killer, how so?

Lefebvre simply coaches as Habs Mgmt tells him to and Habs haven't bothered to add vet AHLers to have a winner, no matter who is coaching them.

But, which AHL prospect, with obvious NHL talent has been 'killed'?
