Commandant
Laine 3pt game in 6-2 win at world championship...watch out Matthews, you may be a Jet unless you pick up your game. Against Belarus. Matthews played Canada and didn't score but was the best American player on the ice. Today Matthews played Belarus and got 2g 1a as well. The moral of the story? Belarus sucks. Sergachev is the best offensive d-man in this draft, Chychrun and Juolevi are a toss up best 2 way d-men in the draft Bean might be the best offensive D in the draft, but not as good as Sergachev defensively

Jets scouts are likely pleased in what they are seeing and good that Jets will get a major boost thanks to lottery.

That's why I've said if we didn't win the lottery, we should consider trading the pick.
Commandant
Laine is a fine player, i just don't think he's better than Matthews. He's the clear number 2 though.

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
Yeah but where and for who? It's a good question. Is there a clear-cut 'rebuilding' club that has an equally clear-cut top-6 FW - someone who isn't too old and broken down - that they might be willing to move for the #9 pick? It's fine to talk about moving the pick, but teams that aren't rebuilding are unlikely to want to deal away quality roster talent for it, I should think. Commandant
I doubt that after moving Andrew Ladd, the Jets would have any willingness to move Wheeler, who most see as their next captain.
DON
I doubt that after moving Andrew Ladd, the Jets would have any willingness to move Wheeler, who most see as their next captain. You dont have Samuel Girard in top 40, is that partly (mostly?) due to being undersized (same as for Adam Fox)?
Commandant
Undersized and needs work defensively as a result. He gets pushed around by big forwards. Not the greatest assets for a defenceman. Offensively, he's off the charts good.

DON
Olli Juolevi 17gms 3g 14pts, LH rookie d-man (maybe be bumped down by Chychrun & Sergachev?) Samuel Girard 19gms 2g 20pts LH small d-man (2nd round option)
kaos
Watched Juolevi tonight in St Catharines. Totally disappointed. Not sure if he's hurt, or maybe London resting him since they were up 3-0? But he seemed to be playing on the 2nd pairing, and he didn't standout at all. Mete rushed the puck better, Graves, Martinet and Jamieson all played better than Juolevi. He's small...Doesn't look over 6foot and looks about 190 soaking wet. He did absorb 2 big hits and kept right on going. I'd be shocked if Chychrun wasn't selected before Juolevi. Sergachev too. Tkachuk was a steady net presence all night long. Took a few dives and whined constantly to the ref which was dissapointing. And his dad's now a fatass, I have pics to prove it...lol
DON
Tkachuk 40pts in 18 playoff games, not bad. I wonder how much of his production comes from playing with Marner and strong Knight team? Like Sergai Kostitsyn #s (131pts) were boosted with Kane-Gagne as line mates with London 10 years ago.

I like a Girard as a Hab's pick, but for 39th or 45th pick, but Jost for Habs at 9 is fine by me.

DON
http://thehockeywriters.com/2016-nhl-mock-draft-post-lottery-edition/ More standard top of draft mock up. Keller & Jost seem similar in bit I have seen of them and could be a Goudreau-type, but for sure seems that Pronman sees things a bit different than most, not that he isn't correct and seems he has a respected opinion, Commandant would know more about that. John B
Is there any free sites that rank more than just the first round? Most of the mock drafts I've seen only have the first round. Draftsite.com is the only one that I've seen that does all 7 rounds, but doesn't have player profiles for all prospects.
