Sometimes my emotions get the best of my thoughts and perhaps yours too, but the lack of success is easy to explain. MANAGEMENT. Yes, yes, I was one who was impressed by Bergevins pedigree, and he has brought im some good players (like Weiss and Fleischman) but now he's just turned senile. These players have scored 24 goals between them this year. The players who are replacing them have scored 1 or 2. If guys on the farm are to take their place, where are they? McCarron?......sounds OK with me but why is he playing the graveyard shift? The year is over, play him on the 2nd line. We need GOALS! We need quality players. It's obvious and has been even throughout ALL of last year. If not for Carey Price, we'd have stunk up the plave last year too. The style of play with Therrien is awful. We couldn't score a power play goal if the other team didn't have a goalie. FIRST WE NEED A COACH. SECOND, WE NEED A 1ST LINE CENTER. THIRD, WE NEED A 2ND LINE WINGER. AND LAST, WE NEED ANOTHER DEFENCEMAN WHO SHOOTS THE PUCK. Has anyone noticed how many shots Emelin has taken this year? And this is how you'll get that team. Since he refused to make the team better at the trade deadline, it will cost more now, but here goes. GET RID OF SALARY BY GETTING RID OF THE DEAD WOOD! Emelin, Eller and Desharmais must go immediately. These 3 will create the cap room needed for a couple of players. Then allow Holloway and Hudon the opportunity to either play their way into the lineup or prove they are worthless. Also, with us needing goals goals and more goals, is De la Rose really the answer? But first and foremost, Therrien must go. Bergies keeping him on and making Montreal an embarrassment is more than any proud fan should have to take. We lost Price and with him the team lost their confidence, I agree it would be nice if we could get rid of some fringe players on our roster but sometimes that is easier said than done. Contracts are contracts and sometimes they are really hard to move. Sometimes you are just stuck with guys you probably should not have given contracts to or such long contracts. Lost price, lost gallagher at a bad time, there were a series of games where we were playing good but just couldn't catch the breaks, bad coaching decisions, lack of any sort of shakeup during the massive slump, petry not 100% and then his season ended, etc. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Lost price, lost gallagher at a bad time, there were a series of games where we were playing good but just couldn't catch the breaks, bad coaching decisions, lack of any sort of shakeup during the massive slump, petry not 100% and then his season ended, etc. Every year there is some team, pegged by everyone to be a strong club, that takes a huge step backward, often for reasons having to do with injuries or internal turmoil rather than talent per se. I feel as though the simple shake up from MT would be a positive.
