lazy26
2 seasons / $750 000 AAV Hard not to like that deal!
Guest Stogey24
Barberio can be on the soft side in his own end, but I really liked what he did last year. This is a good one!

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
I liked him from the get-go. This may be crazy, but I believe that if the Habs make a Cup run, Barberio will be an important contributor to it. The Pens showed how important a puck-moving game can be. To have a guy like him as a bottom-pairing defenceman could make a difference over a long playoff run. Great signing.
Trizzak
Worth noting (if my math is correct) that he signed past 1 of his UFA years. Seems Barbs actually likes Montreal, despite that last season.
Machine of Loving Grace
I liked him from the get-go. Worth noting (if my math is correct) that he signed past 1 of his UFA years. Seems Barbs actually likes Montreal, despite that last season. While we Hab fans were complaining about him not being up immediately and such, he was probably just happy to play for his hometown team. Now that they seem to trust him a bit more, hopefully he doesn't pull a Dandenault and coast for several seasons.
DON
Good depth guy.
dlbalr
Hard not to like that cap hit. Even if he steps back and is more of a #7 for those two years, that's still pretty cheap for a depth blueliner.
KoRP
Barberio seemed like the type of defenseman the teams in the league are going to use more and more of these days, he sure can skate, and has a good basic instinct for offense, good signing imo. BCHabnut
I'm a big Barberio fan. His name is awesome and his contract is perfect for a number 6 d man. Glad the mighty barberio will be in Montreal next year.
xXx..CK..xXx
I think the problem is that we might not see Barberio's full potential due to him actually ending up in the #7 slot as Brian alluded to. With Emelin, Beaulieu and Markov on the left side, I see them having priority over Barberio from the coach's standpoint. I say this is a problem because I'm someone who likes both Emelin and Barberio. I think it could be argued that Barberio could be a top 4 Dman on a team where Emelin is #6. The way I see it though, they both bring completely different elements to the game and Barberio's game is more similar to Markov and Beaulieu than Emelin. That's not to say that a team with an improving Beaulieu, Barberio and an aging Markov can't win the cup though. I think they could and defense is not the problem on this team. All that being said, it is a good depth signing and in all likelihood Barberio will get his ice time this season.
KoRP
Good points CK, maybe Barberio is the "puck mover" that will ease Markov's minute load next year somewhat?
