Wild @ Habs, Dec 22, 19:30 ET

One possible thing to watch for the Habs is a late-day call-up on the back end.  Emelin's wife is expected to give birth later today and he wasn't at the morning skate.  As a result, his availability is in question.  The IceCaps have been skating in Montreal all week so if they do need to call someone up, it won't be an issue.

It's his 3rd child, can't he skip this one?

I didn't like that period of hockey...far too many shots fired wide.  It's going to be hard enough to score on Dubnyk, so can hardly afford to let him off the hook when in quality shooting situations.

I didn't mind the period to be honest, especially after they weathered the early push from Minnesota. (They only missed the net four times in the period which isn't that high.)  Minnesota's a strong defensive team so the chances are going to be more towards the outside by their design.

While they're pointing out on the broadcast that Hanley has barely played four minutes tonight, it's also worth noting that Redmond has also only played four minutes.  This is not a comforting stat knowing there's another game tomorrow.

Seems like Mitchell completely forget about Zucker in the slot on that second goal.

I'm not shocked Redmond is down there to be honest.  His ice time has been steadily decreasing as he's now showing himself to be the fringe guy he is over the player who looked pretty good the first couple of games.  Part of me wonders if it'd be worth sending Terry down after the game and calling up Lernout to go with 7 D tomorrow in the hopes that he can handle a few shifts to take some pressure off of guys like Weber/Petry.

Enjoying this game quite a bit. Really like what Lehkonen is doing out there. Great to see him get rewarded. Radulov has been a bit quiet as of late.

Looks like the Jackets are beating up on the Pens tonight with it already 7-1. At least they are getting all the goals out of their system. Hopefully that bodes well for tomorrow night. Montoya will be pumped to get in their tomorrow to try and avenge his demons.
