Meller93
3.25 mill feels like a lot, even on a one year deal. Not that we don’t have cap space

Considering everyone signs for $1.75M these days, its a fair deal.

Chris
Pathetic, Classic MB doesn't improve the team, wastes 2 mill on a 4th line center
Machine of Loving Grace
I mean... who cares, the season will be a bust. Might as well spend it on a lifelong Hab we traded for a 2nd rounder who is two days away from his 1000th game.

I wonder if Bergevin got raked by Molson after he didn't re-sign him and that's why Plekanec is getting this deal.

Prime Minister Koivu
I'm happy to have him back. This doesn't hurt us in any way and it may not help us much either but I don't think there is anything happening this year that will help us. John B
Welcome back Plekanec. Nice to see him back. I don't have an issue with this one. 1 year deal with a fair cap hit. If the Habs suck again he can once again be moved more pick(s) and or prospect(s). If the Habs are decent, he gives them good depth down the middle and he's a solid shut down center. dlbalr
It doesn't appear as if Plekanec received a no-trade clause in this contract either which increases the potential of him being a deadline rental once again.

What surprises me, personally, is how little affection or sentimental attachment I feel for the guy, despite having respected him (and defended him against critics) for years. Am I unusual in this - ? Are most people delighted to have ol' Pleky back, or basically just regarding it as a hockey move?

It's not like he was gone for several years and now is coming back to where it all began. Technically, he was playing elsewhere for what, two months? No element of surprise equals less (or no) emotion towards the signing.
