Top line could be in the NHL. Could be a decent second line on a good team.

Second line is a bit of a mess. If the idea is for Deslauriers to protect Kotkaniemi, yeah history has proven guys will run someone regardless of who is on the ice. If it is to see if he could be the next Weise, I think we have too many talented left wingers to be putting Deslauriers up there. I mean we have so many, we've now moved Lehkonen and Hudon to the right wing.

Curious to see if Shinkaruk works hard for this because his career is on the line.

Good for Mete and Juulsen to get big minutes.

I am glad they are putting Delarose on the 4th line to see if he wins his spot on the NHL roster: it's about time we light a fire under his feet

I have a 3rd line of Hudon-Pleks-Lehkonen

I am interested to see if Hudon can play on the RW

Lehks is more comfortable on RW but this gives some options

I am also glad they are playing Mete-Juulsen to see how they react

looks like a interesting experiment at this point; to see how ready some prospects are

So Bergevin said in an Interview that the centres this season will be Domi, Danault, Plekanec, Peca

Wait a minute, let me get this straight.

Thew habs trade a center, who they converted to wing, for a wing who they are converting to center?

Is that correct? Oh the irony of MB.

I got a feeling Peca will be 2C by December.

Bergevin needs a compass, because this team is lost

I give just as much blame to Julien at this point. His job is much safer than Bergevin. He can do whatever he wants with the lines and if they fire him he is one of the highest paid coaches on vacation for a couple years. These lines are just as much his doing. If he didn't want Domi there he wouldn't be there. It was Julien who put Galchenyuk on the fourth line against the Rangers then claimed he was trying to spread the offence.

It's not just the centre situation I'm talking about, but I agree 100%

Is there any evidence that Domi is a quality C waiting to happen?

And when was the last time a team had two converted W playing, potentially, the top two C roles?

Part of me hopes Galy rips it up at C just to make an ass of Bergevin.

Unlike in Montreal, if Domi could play centre, he would have never been moved.

I thought Tatar looked good on the first shift and then that line went quiet after.  Shinkaruk had a nice chance on a good setup from Plekanec.  Despres had a nice pass to Blake Speers who unfortunately plays for New Jersey which led to the goal.  The point play on the power play looks bad - Mete/Hudon and Schlemko/Despres.

Tatar looks a bit like Kovalev out there with those skates

27 year old grinder wins over local fans by scoring 10 more goals than anyone thought he would. What does he do? Punches himself stupid in exhibition.

It always boggles my mind when fighters feel the need to fight in the preseason.  Deslauriers is well-established as a fighter; he doesn't need to prove that part of his game to anyone so why engage with a minor league guy?

He's played about 20 games at C last year and did well in garbage time for the Coyotes

That is essentially the only time he played C since the age of 17
