Interesting 4th line. Thompson scratched eh? I think he is better without Weise to drag him down.

I haven't seen the line combos today.  The fourth line is a guess.  It could be Thompson and Deslauriers.

Ah, I thought Deslauriers was back in and I guess Habs have the problem of 100% healthy roster for once...knock on wood...

Saturday's game against Toronto is huge, and will kick off the determining stretch of the Habs' season. A win puts them a point back of Toronto for 3rd in the Atlantic. A loss leaves them back in the middle of 4 teams vying for 3 playoff spots. It's also the last game they play before the trade deadline.

7 of the next 8 games are on the road, 6 of those games are back-to-backs.

We'll definitely need the Good Niemi during that stretch. Let's hope he got the stink out of his system last week.

I bet Bergevin brings in another goalie at the trade deadline, even if it's just Lindgren. Niemi is too mentally fragile for a team with playoff aspirations.

Milestone night.

Gallagher first career hat trick

Tomas Tatar's 5th 20 goal season

Max Domi new career high in points at 53

Philip Danault new career high in points at 41

(Mike Reilly set a new career high in points last game against Columbus)

Gallagher hit 25 goals this year.

Kotkaniemi hit 30 points

Price is within 3 wins of plante.

A propos of Gallagher:

He's the new Andrei Markov, in that anyone playing with him automatically looks substantially better. The guy is deceptively elite.

Now 20 more games like that one, with zero PPs to kill momentum and should coast into playoffs.

Domi, Thompson & Danault kicked ass on the defensive zone faceoffs.

I'm sure confidence is the key issue, as you say (well, imply). Niemi still has the skills needed, if he could only get properly mentally prepared for a game. It's all in his head -- just like Price's struggles early in the season.

I'm not sure Lindgren would be the answer, either. But I definitely won't be surprised if that happens.
