Will Youppi be a good mascot for the habs?

When I read about Bob Gainey's signing of Youppi as our mascot, some concerns came to mind. Maybe you have some insight into these things which will allay my fears, which will let me sleep at nights, which will help me avoid having to go to a psychiatrist again or to be admitted for another long visit at the local mental hospital.

Here they are:

1) Will Youppi's salary affect the team's salary cap?

2) Did Youppi sign a one-way or two-way contract?

3) Is the contract for one year, so as to better evaluate Youppi's impact or is it long-term so as set more stability in the team's personnel?

4) When does he become an unrestricted free agent?

5) In terms of impact in the dressing room, will his personality help to maintain or, even better, improve team spirit?

6) Speaking of team spirit, is Youppi a team player or a selfish prima-donna?

7) What will be Youppi's on-ice role? an enforcer?

8) After not being active in sports for a while now, did Youppi make the necessary effort to stay in shape? (by the way, yes, round is a shape but not one that's very good for a hockey player).

9) Are the rumours true that Julien will insist that his players shave off excess body hair? If so, will Youppi be allowed to be an exception based upon racial considerations?

10) Will Youppi keep up the antics that had him get thrown out of a baseball game? If so, will management send him to the press-box for too much negative impact on the team?

I hope you can help. I seem to be walking under an ever-present dark cloud of gloomy foreboding and a general sense of unidentified doom. Maybe, if you were to list some of those other concerns, then you could shine a light on the whole issue so that I could better get a grip on it, yes, get a grip... I gotta get a grip, yes, get a grip, getagrip getagrip, getagrip, getagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgetagripgottagetagrippppp... sigh........... :puke::eyes:

I'll give my own personal take on this. I won't be answering the questions because I don't know the answers because I asked the questions in the first place and, if I asked the questions in the first place, how can you expect me to know the answer, so leave me alone!!! ;)

I would like to say that I would rather have had FOZZY BEAR:king::king::king: as our mascot.

Look to the left and behold how SHARP he's dressed! And, with the UNIFORM he's wearing, you gotta know that his role on the team would be as an ENFORCER, no doubt about it. That uniform, the MASSIVE arm muscles and the absolutely horribly SCARY look on his face with the Rocket Richard-like FIRE piercing from his eyes, I just know that even that traitor Darren Langdon would pretty well crap himself with one look from FOZZY THE ENFORCER BEAR!!!!! :king::king::king:

When the Alouettes go bankrupt, relocate to Moncton, etc. maybe the habs will snap up their cheerleaders! Now that would be something to get excited about.

Haha, don't we still have the Molsen-Ex girls or something? I heard they come from not too far down the road....

You have to like the fact that Habs 'adopted' an abandoned mascot.

He won't have the space to romp at BigBell like he did at the Stade, so will have to run round in the stands or something during games, probably also skate round a bit before games? I hope he messes with visiting teams some (especially the Leaf) like he did with the Dodgers all those years ago when he was booted by the ump. He can liven things up some for younger fans.

But his work will largely be in the community, visiting kids' groups and hospitals and so on. In this role, the only option the team had before Youppi was to send a player along with some guys in suits.

So yeah, I think Youppi! will make a fine addition to the Habs team.

Agree his role is with the habs community work, children's hospital and wherever etc...

But I wouldnt mind him hanging around the Leaf bench with a hidden Baseball bat that he can use to pat Domi on the skull time to time!!! :P

Cheers Go Youppie Go
