shortcat1
I am amazed by the delay between the posts from CJAD and CHRC. I read the results 'long' before the shoot-out scores take place.

Lord Chronic
didn't Bonk have like 4 points? lol and that's not good enough for 3rd star?
Quebecois
Wow what a game! We've got to find a spot for Latendresse on this team, he sounds amazing, can't wait to see him in action. Perezhogin and Hossa also seem to be stepping it up, Julien is gonna have a helluva time making those final cuts....
shortcat1
Higgins, Hossa and Latendresse. I'm very glad for Hossa. I hope that this is his break-out year. Higgins, I'm not surprised and, of course, Latendresse... it would have been pandemonium if he hadn't been one of them. The crowd bood a bit when Hossa was mentioned... probably because they wanted Latendresse.
Spider-Man NL
:hlogo: win by a score of 6-1 and they also win the shootout 2-1.

Psycing
wow, no use reading all the posts since i left, but what a game... Burke hung out to dry! Latendresse, can't wait to see if they play him on a line w/ Ribs and Ryder to see what happens... aww man. Perezhogin wins the shoot-out for us again... Dagenais who? (sure he can score, but you've got to think his days are numbered when you've got Latendresse and Perezhogin playing like they are.)

That would be too bad for him. He would surely find himself a spot on an other team. He does have a valid talent.
shortcat1
Weird, I know that there's no waiver draft but the French post-game commentators are talking about the Canadiens's difficult decision about who to keep and who to let go. The implication seems to be that if a player is not 'protected', he's fair game for others to take him. I don't quite understand. I wonder if it means that they're only allowed to have so many in their organization and the others that they can't or decide not to sign become 'free agents'. KoZed
Houston, we have a (nice) problem... Hossa is playing like he suddenly cares. Perezhogin is alway creating stuff Higgins plays like a veteran already Latendresse won't slow down Plekanec getting up to speed and scoring SH Tough tough decisions for Julien. KoZed
Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev ?????? - Ribeiro - Ryder Bulis - Bonk - ?????? ?????? - Begin - ?????? Got 4 spots and Sundstrom is "garanteed" one of them. So who gets the 3 others?

[Edited on 2005/9/21 by shortcat1] it's not about protection, here is the deal: If you dont find a roster spot for some of our older prospects, before they can be sent down you need to put them on waivers, only if they clear waivers can you send them down. The implication being that these guys arent clearing waivers

Let me rephrase: Julien & Gainey like Sundström and want him in the lineup.
simonus
Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev Perezhogin - Ribeiro - Ryder Bulis - Bonk - Hossa Sundstrom - Begin - Plek/Higgins hopefully this all becomes more self-evident as the preseason goes on
