Bulis to the second line?

How about adding Bulis to the second line with Ryder and Ribeiro...As stated before by MANY different people, Dagenais is really not playing up to the standards of a second liner in the NHL..Maybe not even the standards of a player in the NHL lol..

Without Zednik:

Perezhogin-Koivu-Kovalev

Bulis-Ribeiro-Ryder

Plekanec/Dagenais-Bonk-Sundstrom

Plekanec/Ivanans-Begin-Higgins

Depending on who plays

then when Zednik comes back (if the lineups are doing well and they stick together)

Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev

Bulis-Ribeiro-Ryder

Plekanec-Bonk-Sundstrom

Perezhogin-Begin-Higgins

Now I KNOW that many of you are "high" on Bulis + Bonk together and others think that Plekanec deserves a shot on the second line etc etc...But Bulis would really add to the second line..His speed is incredible (something the second line lacks) and he can easily score goals and set up Ryder and Ribeiro for ones of their own..

As for Perezhogin going to the fourth line well believe me that would not be a fourth line lol...Begin Higgins and Plekanec would make for an exciting line to watch and I just don't see Perezhogin fitting in on the third one...

Anyways I know this is purely speculation and may never end up happening...But a lot of people have been posting possible line combinations and I wanted to know what people thought about these ones...I don't see how it could be bad!! :P

Yes, there's some validity to your ideas. I don't know about putting Perezhogin on the 4th line but, then again, it may be better for him so as to help him grow into the team more gradually and with less pressure.

one of the biggest problems right now is that we are not carrying any extra forwards - Zed and Ivanans are both injured. How do you take Dags out of the lineup? I was really hoping to hear about a callup, but so far nothing.

moving zohgy to the 4th line is a mistake and bulis is better on the 3rd line... unfortunately we have to wait til zednik comes back to dump dagenais but zednik or higgins should be on the 2nd line... zohgy deserves to stay on the 1st line... his vision is fabulous

A possible idea. I'd like to see Bulis on a top line but that might detract from his defensive game. We don't want Perezhogin on a checking line.

Oh well atleast it's a change lol...It's just that I felt the second line needed some speed to be honest...Last game Dagenais was benched I believe because on three consecutive shifts Ryder and Ribeiro had different linemates...Once they were with Bulis (and that one shift alone they each had a scoring opportunity) and the other two times they played with Plekanec and they seemed to be doing quite well with him.

As for Perezhogin, I think it is obvious that Zednik is a better fit on the first line lol (He's a rookie give him a break) :P...With that being said, if he was to be moved off the first line I don't see Zhogy benefitting the third line at all..So either put him on the second or fourth!! :-s..

i hope this doesn't mean that the 4th line become dagenais-begin-higgins

The fourth line has been one of the best on the ice in basically every single game I can't see the logic of breaking up the chemistry that they seemed to have.

Hopefully this is only temporary as Zednick rehabs and shuffles Dags out the door.

Sadly for Dagenais but it looks like this is the case. His inability, so far as we can see, to be able to handle the speed of the new game and his general lack of physical play have made it so that someone else has to go there.

The only question, as stated by some of you, is what is to be done with Perezhogin? Is putting him on the 4th line the best thing for him? What's his defensive play like? etc, etc, etc.

Bottom line, it seems that Dagenais is going to have to adapt or will go to Hamilton or to some other team. He still does have value as a shooter.

if you are going to get anything for dageanis it will be with a team that just can't score.

<table border=1><tr><td>Team</td><td>Goals Per Game</td></tr>

<tr><td>Washington 2.43</td></tr>

<tr><td>New Jersey</td><td>2.4</td></tr>

<tr><td>Edmonton</td><td>2.33</td></tr>

<tr><td>Florida</td><td>2.17</td></tr>

<tr><td>Phoenix</td><td>2.0</td></tr>

<tr><td>Columbus</td><td>1.83</td></tr>

</table>

Also, Washington has a -2.29 Goal Diff and Pittsburgh has a -1.5 Goal Diff.

With the possible exception of FLA (which has a +.5 goal diff), all these teams are desperate for extra offense. Maybe there is a deal to be made (won't be for much, but it's something)

Ooo, Dags to Phoenix sounds like a good fit. The Coyotes are a team of reclamation projects, he'd fit right in.

I still say Zed should be on the second line when he gets back, but what can you do?

As for Bulis on the second line, it's an interesting idea but overlooks one thing---Bulis has never shown an ability to score goals at the NHL level. He's a specialist in blown chances, and that's not what we want playing with setup man Ribiero, at least not until Ryder rediscovers his game. (Not that I'm knocking Bulis, he's a very useful player, just not a goal scorer).

Again, I suggest that you read 'The Fan's Sunday Mailbag' written by 'A Concerned Fan'.

It's located on the home page of this site on the top-left-hand corner. He deals with this issue and makes good points.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I wish we still had Perrault. He always had good chemsitry and didn't mind playing on Koivu's wing. When last-minute faceoffs happened, he'd switch to the pivot to take it.

But as for the lines, I don't think breaking up Zednik and Koivu would be a great idea. That first line is set when Zeddy returns. Put Perezhogin on the second line, and keep the fourth line Begin - Higgins - Plekanec. Third line should also not be touched. We need a defensive line, and Bulis and Bonk together make it dangerous. Sundstrom also seems to be coming along well enough. He's a slick passer when he wants to be and has fluidic skating.

Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev

Plekanec-Ribeiro-Ryder

Perezhogin-Bonk-Sundstrom

Bulis-Begin-Higgins

Dagenais as the spare part for now.

That would be my suggestion as injuries and bad play are starting to mess up the lines.

I think I read somewhere that Claude Julien is looking to put Plek on the second line.

Ryder has to learn not to turn the puck over so often as he is not playing well either. This might be a way to jumpstart a second line as too much pressure is on the second line. Not sure when Zed is back but it would mean double shifting Kovalev or Perezhogin for now.
