Well, that was bound to happen. you can't stop Petterson from scoring all the time!

RATS ... I was hoping they would become disillusioned with him and we could pick him up as part of a Mete trade

I don't that was a defensive faux-pas.

Now, need to take the game to the Canucks for the rest of the period.

Chiarot?   Would depend somewhat on what their PK strategy is for that situation ... they may be trying to choke off the middle after what Horvat and Boeser did in Vancouver

A nice shot by Danault, hit the centre of the crest on Demko's sweater! 😁

Two more and he gets anything off the top shelf of prizes

Im not sure if I like Tatar or not

Talented player and productive ... but............

Seems to disappear for stretches

I agree, but I do tend to like him.

I was definitely happy when I heard Tatar was part of the Patches trade.    Patch gets 30-35g/yr and would have been a UFA and fairly expensive (7+mil/yr) for Tatar 25-30g/yr @ 5mil/yr and have him for 3+ yrs.  Just Tatar seemed like a decent return for a player the Habs wanted to dump.  It already looks like Suzuki is > Patches, and the Habs got a 2nd rnd pick too.

I loved that he was in the trade ... but not convinced he is a UFA priority next summer ... with last "summer's" signings and if this year continues to go well, there may be better players in which to invest money who would "now" consider the Habs

Chiarot tried to protect the puck to get a whistle ... perhaps he should have backed Pearson away from the crease ... but Allen moved his pad for no reason that allowed Pearson a clear lane through which to puke the puck ... so I'd look mostly at Allen

Petry with an open netter.

I was thinking they should let Edmundson try the long pass into the open net.  He already has 1, so is he good at taking long shots?

I've always been surprised that dmen don't practice taking long shots from below their own hashmarks.  There should be a dman capable of getting 5-10 open netters/yr.  No clue what the stats are or what the record is but that seems to be rarer than it should be.

5-3 win and 36 saves on 39 shots. Four solid games for us already. I'm very, very happy with Bergevin having signed him.

Danault is working on a 1 million a year offer.

Habs are going to destroy in the playoffs

Unfortunately centre is not necessarily a deep position next summer amongst UFAs ... but on the other hand, if Suzuki and KK seize the 1C and 2C positions then what is needed to replace Danault changes ... Evans and maybe Poehling have a chance to TRY to make their own cases.

Petry leads all D with 12 points after 10 games. Toffoli leads the league with 9 goals. And the Habs lead the league with 16 points from 10 games (only the Panthers have a better percentage).

OK, hands up, who saw this coming?

Only 4 Habs without goals so far this season: Danault, Byron, Kulak, and Mete.

Who scores first? And will it be tonight?

Price may score before the last two.  How about Taffoli.  That’s what 7, 8 goals against the knuckleheads?

Wow,  I often dont look at the leaders so I wasn't aware of those stats.   It would be awesome if Petry won the Norris Trophy.  Weber has come close to winnng it, and by the time both of their contracts are up I wonder if Romanov could be in contention to win it

Tofolli has be insane against Van.  Hopefully he can score against other teams.

Allen is 3rd for goal against avg and the Habs have the top 3 in SHG.  🤣

Actually, Petry is up to 13 points! He had a goal and an assist tonight!

Looking at the stats for the North division, you’d think the Habs are beating up on the Sens. Habs 7-1-2, Sens 1-7-1. Habs +17. Sens -22 goal differential.

Yet they haven’t met  ... yet.

Mete + Kulak tonight much, much better than Mete + Romanov last night.

Romanov and Kulak. We get pinned with Mete because he gets pushed around more than a Leaf fan in the nosebleeds at the Bell Centre.

Face-offs.

Until these two can hit 50%, then we need at least one excellent taker of draws. Cumbersome sentence. Embarrassing. Not that I want to do anything other than let him go at the price he seems to think he's worth. Much better sentence. If his demands fall, fantabulous. Otherwise, he's just not in the budget.

Agreed ... which is why I said  if Suzuki and KK seize the 1C and 2C positions  ... but next summer, as was being discussed, "face-offs" won't get Danault the money he has been looking for

There was no criticism intended, nor I believe implied, that I wasn't happy with the signing ... just discussing the specific goal

KK (33%) and Suzuki (36%) we lousy in the faceoff circle last night....just throwin' tha tlittle tid bit out there! ;)

On the positive side, Evans won 12 of 18 faceoffs for 67% and Danault won 54% of his faceoffs!
